Where do you connect a tow strap on a small red Mitusbishi (?) so that you can pull it out without damaging it?

That is a great question, because it took me about 10 minutes to find something on the mitsu.

The UPS guy and I looked under his truck and decided on a point to strap it to, I had him actually hook it up his truck - I was not gonna be responsible for that. At this point I think he was just humoring me because he was bored waiting for the tow truck. Soon enough he was on his way.

Now you are asking yourself "but racedirt? Why are you so worried about damage to the UPS truck and not the mitsu?" The UPS guy looked like a walrus with his big, bushy mustache. The mitsu chick was hot so I naturally have to be the tough guy and just make it happen.

I got Firestone Destination A/T's with about 35k hard miles on them. They still get me through the mud pretty good to.

Search the threads on the forum because this has been discussed in detail before. Basically, you want a snatch strap with loops, never hooks.

Yeah I leave my recovery gear in the car. Tow strap, two shackles, piece of wood, jumper cables, etc.

$750?? That's a rip off. You can get them much cheaper at tirerack. You could get Bridgestone REVO's for cheaper than $750.

?? When I priced it all out, I came up with ~$600 OTD for 265/75/16 Destination A/T's (includes shipping, taxes, mount/balance).

I got some REVO's in 265/70/17's (17's were more expensive than 16's) and it cost me $750 OTD. And that was just an AVERAGE deal. People were getting much better pricing. Stop by your local Disc. Tire. Then take the quote to Firestone and see if they will beat it.

Racedirt1, why was the daycare even open? My school was closed, and so were alot of other schools, there was only one school that didn't close in LITH and they got in BIG trouble.

Anyways I was out yesterday too, driving and looking for people that were stuck. Every time me and my friend went to go help somebody, I was all excited to get to use my new tow strap and then some dude in his F250 of lifted Ram would almost hit me and totally take control, pissed me off so much, ugh.

I blew through alot of embankments, but I was surprised. I have crappy Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, while going through one embankment I was stupidly going too slow which caused he front to get high centered. Blah damn tires. It was pretty intense,near blizzard like conditions and the roads were terribly plowed on account of the wet snow and lack of salt (our state is out of salt, on Route 14 they were using sand)

The Firestone Destination A/T is on my list for new tires. Still, I can't believe you hauled his ass, those things are heavy! Go 4Runner!

My kids daycare is a lady who does it out of her house, but you are correct about the closings. My daughters preschool was closed yesterday. Yeah man, that snow was pretty brutal.

That was a good pull. If we ever get snow here, I like to drive around in my Jeep and help people out. I keep hoping someone will hit me and I'll get free upgraded bumpers.

I used to unload those UPS trucks. The body is fiberglass, so they aren't as heavy as they look, but they are still heavy. The diesel engine and frame are massive. Their weight varies greatly depending on their load.
