Heh. Nice job with the UPS truck. Sometimes it only takes abit of a pull and in those cases the lightweighting trucks handle it.

Today, it proved to be not-that-type-of-snow here in Iceland.

Just came home from a "little bit of offroading" which turned into a rescue mission.

Met up with 4 jeeps, two of them were there to help the other two. We had to battle our way through 60-80cm (around 2-3 feets) of snow and on our way I pulled one hilux and a musso (both running stock 31" tires) I don't even understand how they got there.

Most of the jeeps were on 33-35" tires, me and one other had 38s on.

Even the craziest part was that when we were leaving the small musso that I just pulled up... went back on the trail and drove back into the woods....

I just shook my head and left...

So, the snow is Effing awesome. =)

Lol, I have no idea. They are 38" by 15,5".
But that were my ol' tires.
These days I'm runnin' 44" by 18,5"

Sweet looking rig there. How does everyone feel about the recovery without the diff locked. I was having this very arguement with a friend yesterday.

Without the central diff locked? It should be okay as long as the wheels aren't spinning. It's actually better for even traction. But if they start to spin it's better to lock 'em up. You can only damage the centre diff by spinning it like hell.
Unfortunatly I don't have this option (2nd gen is always centre locked in 4hi), very much of a fun tryin to take a U turn in very slippery conditions.
Like drivin' a tank. lol

Several of us were thinking about heading down to Cliffs Insane Terrain in Marsailles on Saturday, but it is gonna be a mud-bath. I am not sure if I am going or not, if I do decide to go I will post up.
