Guru's....Rear axle comparison 2 & 3 gen

Main question.....Is the outer flange on the rear axle the same between the 2nd gen 4Runners/79-95 Pickups and the 3rd gen 4runners? Specifically the bolt pattern that the backing plate, wheel hub bolt onto.
Reason behind my question involves a rear disk conversion. I know a couple have attempted it by fabricating their own bracket. I have found CNC cut brackets that may make the swap even easier if the 2nd and 3rd gens are the same.
I understand the overall length is the different, but that should not matter.

The only downside to these brackets, they allow the use of Toyota V6 front calipers, which do not utilize the e-brake.

the simple answer is yes they are all the same. 1st 2nd 3rd gen runners all have the same bolt pattern. I built my own brackets mainly because v6 calipers are nonfloating and will not do as well on the rear as a full floating caliper like from a montero or a mustang. the really sick set up is to use front range offroad fab's full float axle conversion and run supra calipers with the ebrake option.

the rear disk conversion has a cool factor but Im not sure they really do much better that a well setup drum brake. Not to say that there aren't advantages like the ability to remove the rear 3rd member with out opening the brake system. Huge for Me:tea: Good luck and have fun.

Mostly it's not the best investment. Very few vehicles actually need rear discs**cough, MY L/C, cough**. Did you say Supra?
