Actaully, HID is not a new technology, GE invented the HID bulb almost 50 years ago. I think that even the ABS brakes on the 4runner is newer in technology wise.
Nor was it my intention to run him off. I don't doubt that he can be an asset to the forum.Bobby said:Before this gets out of hand, let's not start jumping on the guy and run him off. This isn't and wasn't my intention.
I know everyone has their own tastes in cars and some even like to modify it to personalize it and/or make it more functional. This is as much a hobby for me as it is my transportation. We're all here to share the wealth of knowledge with other 4runner owners or enthusiasts.
Now the problem DID NOT started with you (07runner) pointing out features and equipment you didn't like on the current generation 4runners but by the way you expressed how you felt about it. It was almost immature and definitely insulting since you don't own one and we do. You come off as very abrasive and not very likable. Let's try this again...
Welcome to the forums!
TRD04RUNNER said:hahah you want to talk about fool! when I brought my 1997 M3 back in July of 97 I pay $42,500 not only did the thing not have HID , it did not even have a button or trigger to open the trunk! you would have to use the key or press the button from the outside to open it!. It did not even have power seat or tilt steering! I mean WTF a 40+k car without power seat? LOL
The only thing that sold me on the M3 back then was the power and torque it had . I mean ever time when the rpm shot up to red line it felt like I had a turbo under the hood! and the way that baby handle and corner like it was on rail just make you feel in luv with it right then!!! best stock ride ever straight out of the box! "you have never drove the ultimate machine till you drive an ///M"
TRZ06 said:I beg to differ on your statement,
The best "out of the box" car out there is the Corvette Z06.
My 04' had 405hp, 405 Ft. lbs of TQ weighed 3150lbs, cornered at 1.06g , did 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, and stopped from 60-0 in 108 ft.
All bone stock, for $45,000 (including rebates and 0% APR for 60 mths.)
Then my wife & I had a baby, and everything changed (For the better)
But I still miss driving the Z
Bobby said:While I agree, at the time the M3 was introduced, it was the best handling car by C&D. I've had seat time in a Z06 and that is pretty amazing stock and kicked my ass in my modified M3 in autox's but about even on the track (probably driver).
