Hail damage today

It hailed golf ball sized hail for about 10 minutes today and it was like watching a war movie with the hail literally exploding all over the place. I was parked under some trees so that may have reduced the damage, but there's still some golf ball sized dents in my 2010 TE. Most of the damage is on the top of the 4R with several dents around the sunroof area. The hood has one dent that I noticed, but I was surprised given how thin the metal is that it didn't look like the surface of the moon. My deductible is $200 and I imagine I'm going to have to wait weeks for this repair as there's going to be MANY claims starting tomorrow.

Maybe tomorrow I'll post pics. I have a video of the hail too, just trying to get it off my tablet.

(I would NOT want to have been hit myself with the hail, it was NASTY!)

Here is the video of the hail storm.

Damage is at least $600 to repair, but I've got the $200 deductible. The repair shops are backlogged so I cannot get my truck repaired for about 6 weeks. :(

I also visited my toyota dealership today. They have a lot of hail damaged vehicles now as most other dealerships would as well. My salesman said 'it's not good'...

I sympathize with you Rob. Mine was under covered parking when dallas took a bad storm about a month or so ago. I have 4 minor dents in the hood (due to the way the hail was coming in sideways). I'm going to check into some PDR here soon, since I only have about 4 and they aren't that bad. I am still annoyed tho.

Good luck getting your truck back to normal.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I watched your video, but I only saw small hail, maybe the biggest being the size of a marble. Don't you have any video of the golfball size hail? I always hear about it, but never actually see it.

I was in a mall parking lot in Charlotte NC about 2 months ago and experienced the golf-ball sized hail. I was in REI, which has exposed steel roof trusses and exposed metal decking, and all of a sudden you could hear the sound of banging on the roof. Everybody in the store ran to the windows to see the hail hitting the ground.

I talked to the mall security guard afterwards and he said he was getting reports of broken windows. I don't have a sun roof, but I bet it would have been broken out if I did. I've got a few shallow dents in my roof, and one on my hood. They appear to be going away slowly. I've been told that the alternating heating and cooling from the summer sun will slowly make them fade, and I think they are.
