Hard to find Specs, Info & Measurements on 231mm 13WL Tundra Calipers & Rotors

Just did the Tundra Brake Upgrade - soooo worth it

When I was searching for parts, the pics in this thread were not available to view so I could not see the part numbers.

As a reference for the 231mm upgrade -

OEM Tundra rotors, Part # 43512-0C011 (corrected part #)

OEM Tundra brake pads (these are not the ceramic pads), Part # 04465-35290

OEM Tundra shims, Part# 04945-35120

I used NAPA reman'd calipers

Corrected the Rotor part # for everyone.

Brake shims are needed. They will reduce brake noise. Almost all brake pads from auto part stores come with shims. I've never ordered pads from the dealership so I would call and ask.

I got my pads from the dealership, they didn't have any brake shims and I didn't need them because they hardly make any noise. Just some food for thought

So 1/4" would be enough to clear? I thought you needed more (like an inch or so). $5 spacers would be even better deal to get this mod rolling.

1/4" is plenty. you can also get them at auto parts stores.

it also helps if you put rear wheel studs up ferrying. they are just a little longer and make it easier to get the lug nuts started.

Almost there...

Install tomorrow.

Wow... I kept looking at about an inch and a half to push the wheels out past my limited fenders and clear the calipers. 1/4" is much cheaper.

Thanks for the fantastic info BigFishAllDay (any everyone else who has contributed).

Did the install yesterday and it was dead simple. Brakes feel great so far.

16" JAOS Excell II wheels are a confirmed fit WITHOUT spacers.

Tried the grinding on caliper idea... uncovered a hole that appears to be a reservoir as it terminated where I ground and was the only place left besides the top/bottom of the caliper that was just a hair too close to the split 3 spoke wheels... I'm thinking I will throw a dab of JB weld in there and close it up... That seems fairly risky but jb weld is pretty solid. Or I start over with a $75 caliper and go the extra money for spacers and new lug studs... who wants to weigh in?

there is no way in hell I would trust jb weld for that use. You die when you need to stop but you can't.

That's the one thing I wouldn't skimp out on. Brakes are the only thing that keep you alive when you need to stop. Better to pay extra now for peace of mind later.
