Hard wire power cord for Satellite radio

I want to hard wire the power cord on my 03 for a satellite radio. I would like to find a source within the center console so I can drill a small hole in the cup holder and route the wire into the console and up to the reciever. First how do you get the console off and any suggestions on where to wire it once its off. I was thinking of just tapping into the cig lighter from underneath. Point me to another thread if its already been covered.

Do a search here. I've seen a thread with a link to installation of the radio. It has detailed instructions with a lot of pictures how to remove the console step-by step.

There is switched power available at the cig lightet plug in the center console. If you have not added the ash tray, there is an unused connector with power and ground.

The top panel is held in with clips. Just pull up carefully and you are in business.

Actualy got my answer and its simple... Its whats called a fuse tap. Get it at Radio shack, parts stores. It slides over the power side blade of the fuse and has a tab that you can solder the wire to. Push the fuse back in and viola.... power!

I just tapped into the cig lighter as well. pretty easy and no static feed back or antyhing. Not saying it's the best way to go but good for me it was easy and works fine.
