Has anyone done a JDM NON-sunroof field monitor install?

I found (and ordered!) a grey JDM field monitor on eBay today! I've searched/browsed the various install write-ups on the forums from [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] and [MENTION=46329]blcktpgsr[/MENTION] as well as several on Yotatech but I haven't found a write up that shows how to install this NON-SUNROOF version.

Mostly I want to see how to install the bracket that holds the JDM unit to the headliner.

Here's my unit. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I am super stoked to do this mod to my '97 SR5!

It should install the exact same as the sunroof version you will just have less to mess with without the sunroof wiring.

Since you have a 97 you may not have the sunglass holder up there.. this link will help. It basically has everything you need to know about install:

Right on! Joke's on me for coughing up $299 for the one I found (searched on eBay for a while, seemed like the one I bought was the only one available).

At any rate, I'm still trying to figure out what this mounting bracket is that we may need to secure our non-sunroof 4Runners to the headliner.

If anyone has a P/N or install pics for this bracket and/or the non-sunroof monitor I would greatly appreciate knowing about them...

There is no joke on you. They go for 275-300 consistently. I have paid that much a couple times. When I do manage to get them cheaper from Japan by the time I get them here they are just a hair cheaper. So don't feel bad. Its a rare thing for them to pop up that cheap. I contemplated buying the two I posted but didn't want to deal with it.

Btw - they don't have "mounting brackets". They screw in the ceiling on the interior side and hook into body sheet metal on windshield side.
