Has Anyone Installed one of these yet??

Ran across this on some guys YouTube comments and would like to know if anyone has installed it with good sucess. It's a audio/video integration kit that allows you to use your IPhone to watch movies etc. Here's my question. It states not compatible with the Voice Nav radios. I have a 2012 4runner Limited with out the Entune. So does this mean this kit will not work on my system? I emailed Crux the company that makes these kits but haven't heard anything back yet. I would love to be able to use my Nav for other uses. I'm also not sure if you can use Android based smartphones or even better those thumb drive DVD players. I've moved on from actual DVD disc's and bought a little tiny box that plays movies off a thumb drive. It has a HDMI output on the back so being able to use this set up in my 4runner would be great. I have a converter box so powering this player up wouldn't be an issue. I just don't know if the oem radio and the Crux integration set up allows the use of the thumb drive player. Anyone who's used these please post your results.

It's a very specific and (I'm assuming) uncommon kit to install. I'd stick with a more well known model if you're trying to read up on an installation.

I would go ahead and assume that it would work since they say specifically that they support your vehicle. If you're worried about the Voice/NAV compatibility, check their return policy and keep a second model in mind. Keep emailing them your questions, since they're the most likely people to have answers. Though, if I were in your position, I'd personally look at something else that has more reviews that you KNOW 100% will work with your vehicle.

i dont understand why you'd waste your time and money on this crap when you can get a apple CarPlay compatable head unit with Bluetooth that is way better than the factory system

Having an incredibly vague, non-descriptive title for an obscure item will have that affect.

I'd imagine that it's because he'd have to replace the dash molding. Otherwise I totally agree. That's the best way.

It's also the only thing holding me back from upgrading HU's. No aftermarket support for the newer TE dashes. At least none that match close enough to the stock trim.

I am old-school. You lost me with the statement that I can watch movies from my iPhone on the Nav system screen. First, I was wondering why anyone would want or need that capability especially considering that fact the screen on a new iPhone is higher quality than the screen on the Nav.

But then again I have a 2005 SR5 with the original tape/CD deck. Why? First, it is awesome; show me a tape deck on a new 4Runner. And second, I don't want to spend a bunch of money on upgrading.

People have important things todo while behind the wheel. For example, drinking coffee, putting on makeup, shaving, using their phone, texting, playing Candy Crush on their phone, changing the baby's diaper, and watching movies.

There is hardly any time left for watching the road and driving.

If you look on the site there is something with Bluetooth but I'm not exactly sure what it is or does. I will check it out again and let you know what I find.

When I'm on longer road trips is nice to listen to movies while driving and my passenger/s can watch the movie. I don't understand why this concept is so foreign to some of you. It's 2015.
From watching a couple videos of this kit installed in other Toyotas the picture quality really doesn't look that bad. I'm not looking for super high definition.
Imo I think it's nice that a company actually came out with a PnP kit for this because I remember years ago when people would hack into the wiring to get this done. This retains all of the factory functions where the old school hacking did not.

I installed mine a couple of days ago. It mirrors your phone and it has been quite effective. It's really plug n play. Reading this thread, I was kind of surprised by the response since I recall a few threads on how to play dvd's without the parking brake engaged.
