Has anyone shipped headlight assemblies?

I went to my local ups store to ship a pair of fourth gen assemblies and was quoted $150 including packaging. Obviously that's ridiculous. Does anyone have any tips or experience shipping these for a reasonable price?

I shipped mine from a UPS store. I think it was between $40-50 to ship from my town to Brooklyn, NY which is about 80 miles

They'll get you on the packaging. I had a UPS store charge me for literally 9 inches of tape. :AK47:

I've shipped 5th gen headlamps to both the East and West coast from Missouri, both times it was around $100 from fedex.

USPS all the way. Shipped out a pair of 4th gen headlights last week for $22 with tax.

UPS and FedEx will typically gouge the hell outta you on bigger boxes that don't weigh a ton. At least that has been my experience.

UPS shipping prices have gotten RIDICULOUS! 15 years ago, I UPS shipped everything that was large. Now, forget it. USPS and sometimes, FEDEX.

There's no way it should even be close to that expensive, something is amiss. Did you already have them boxed and ready to put a label on?

No. It was $90 for the shipping and $60 for the box and packaging. I thought it was insane. I was figuring about $50 to ship to MA from VA.

Buy your own box and bubble wrap. Get "big bubble" bubble wrap if possible and some packaging tape. Maybe 15-20 bucks max on packaging supplies. Try to fit them into 1 larger box instead of 2 smaller boxes. Make sure you use LOTS of bubble wrap. Should be within 30-50 bucks to ship. I bill and ship for a Mopar eBay store so this is literally what I get paid to do haha. You may want to try the click and ship from USPS and see how much that runs you. Hope this helps.

I think it might be if all 3 dimensions exceed 70 inches

i work for fedex and i get a huge discount on overnight, i suggest you to plastic wrap and then bubble wrap atleast a few layers to protect. then put it in a box with some good foam nuts, they charge by the weight on how heavy the package is.

They were shipped in one box. Each one inside it's own box and then both were fitted in 1 large box.
