yes, go to yotatech.com
by v6 im assuming you mean the 7MGTE. I wouldnt waste my time with that engine (its old, has HG problems) I would go for broke and do a 1JZ or 2JZ
its actually sequential turbo, not twin. twin works ok with a V engine, as one turbo per bank, but it was a sequential yota used in the 2jz, not sure about the 1jz. i am currently working on my own version of sequential turbo, which borrows gases and boost from each others compressors and turbines, but it is still a work in progress, and yet to be tested. and BlackLabeL, it is an inline six instead of a v6, as has been previously pointed out. the main problems with these engines is the acordion style intake will crack and chip off over time, destroying your turbo. the other is a head gasket, but this can be fixed by switching to a metal gasket, and increasing the head bolt torque from the factory recommended 58 ft/lbs. to around 70 ft/lbs., and checking them regularly. A great article on this can be found at:
Hey mate everyone so far has been spot on. but in my opinion i would go a 1uz which is a quad cam 4litre v8. Mainly because i think turbos can be troublesome especially when going through dirty muddy water or dusty roads. 1uz come from lexus soarers ie. a part of toyota. I plan on doing a 1uz conversion my self. Anyway deffinately something to look in to.
a great site to check out is www.supracharged.com and be sure to look up andrew hulses project. he explains everything, and is an overall amazing post.
as for turbos, dust does have a way of finding its way into tight cracks, but a turbo is olny as good as your air cleaner. in efforts of trying to shed light upon the impoartance of a proper aire cleaner, i will tell you a story of what happened to a buddy and i when we were given the task of "destroying" his dads old suzuki samurai. hockey puck body lift, cut out body panels for "factory air conditioning", the most ghetto thing you can imagine. we decided to make a snorkel out of black abs pipe. after some mashing with a sledge hammer (as we were out of cutting disks), we made a hole in the front side panel, and routed the abs pipe. once we got to the top of it, we couldnt find a conical filter that would fit. eager to get on the trail, we simply stole one of his moms old garden gloves, and duct taped in on the top of it. in about twenty minutes of mudding, we blew the engine, BAD. this was only meant to underscore the need for a proper air cleaner.
I know this is an old post but if I could get my hand on a full 7mgte swap with mounts, radiator, fans, ecu, transmission, etc., for just $1800 should I go for it?
