Has anyone with a sunroof gotten an LED light in the dome?

I bought some 31mm festoons off amazon to try them out.

The 31mm works (tight fit) in the rear. Launched two into the roof area above trying to get them seated. One is so far gone it will live it's life in there, the other one was recovered. they aren't that bright, so I'll be getting different ones...

The dome light just behind the sunroof must be a much smaller blub. I cannot get it in there. The bulb looks about 1/8 inch smaller than the replacement...

In all of the bulb threads they just reference the 31mm...

Here's the ones I have in my dope light and cargo light. I don't see why they wouldn't fit in yours. They've fit in everything else I've put them in.

I have similar that I got from ebay for even less than that. Mine are super bright and are something like 5k white, so everyone complains about how bright they are and that my 4runner looks like a space ship at night when someone opens the door. I may shove some wax paper or something up to diffuse it a bit.

It is nice in the cargo bay, these throw WAAAAAAAAY more light than bulbs.

I have the same as the above guys. I used the same light for the dome and rear hatch area. Ebay for like $3.

Same setup here, except I put the 36 count in my map lights and a single 48 in the dome light and rear cargo light. I also put a 36 inside my glove box. It's so nice to see what is in that thing at night. The 36's fit the map lights perfectly.

But I'm having trouble fitting a 31mm bulb in, the connection is smaller than the rear dome light...
And you guys are pointing at 36mm...???

Smallest I've seen is 30mm adjustable, I guess I'll try that (thanks KidVermicious), but I don't want a million candlepower blinding me when I open the door.

I like the 4LED bulb in the rear, it's white instead of that grungy factory yellow and not too bright.

No. The 36 is not mm, it's the LED count on the board. It fits with plenty of room. Takes about 23 seconds to install. I literally bought like ten of these and gave them away as gifts. At the time they were like 4 cents ea. on Amazon. Like NelsonMD said, the light output is incredible.

Those look awesome. I looked around for the replacement LED bulbs and just decided it wasn't worth the cost, but I bet that board is super bright. So that board fits up under the lens just fine?

I just looked up the correct bulb number for the dome and cargo lights then bought them on amazon. Fit was just like the lamps I replaced.

Its a single bright white LED.

I bought these 5W CREE High Power DE3175 DE3022 LED Bulbs For Car Interior Dome and they were a perfect fit... Bright but not too bright. Significantly brighter than stock but not overbearing. Real crisp.

found a 29mm on VLEDS I might try. when I do the whole dash, I'll throw in one of the adjustable adapters into the order to see what I like....

I just replaced my dome lights and the map lights in my 97 runner (with a sunroof) with Putco 1.25" festoon bulbs. The hardest part was getting the cover off of the back light, but it can be done.
