Um, no. If you have basic negotiating skills, you can get a 2017 Limited with every option for $42,000 or less plus T&T. Just did it myself and the sticker was $47k.

Question: Are there any add-ons the dealer can install (or contract with a 3rd party) above what already comes on a Limited? Lift? Fridge? Roof-rack upgrade? Sport hood on the limited? Supercharger?

As stated, you really need to ask the dealer. Any dealer can do the standard bolt-on adds listed on the Toyota web site. Anything else varies greatly. Some only do OEM bolt-ons. Some will bolt-on a limited number of aftermarket pieces (wheels mainly). Others can do full mods including suspension lifts and roof racks.

Are you limited to a single dealer, or can you shop around?

Things to ask for, assuming road driving only:
- Wheels and tires. Slightly wider wheels for looks and to allow for more tire sizes; tires based on her driving needs. There are tons of highway or all-terrain options far better than the OEMs IF the dealer is willing to deviate from the Limited's stock size.
- Upgrade radio/amp/speakers if she's into that sort of thing.
- Install additional 12V and/or USB power points. Simple add-on that almost any dealer can install and wire up. Especially useful if passengers are using power-hungry devices on trips, such as watching movies on tablets. Another similar mod would be to make a power-point or two always-on.
- Cell-phone mount installed in dash.
- Organization/storage improvements. Dividers, caddies, etc.
- Go through [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] 's build thread (or similar). Tons of simple creature-comfort mods. Find a few mods she likes and ask the dealer if they can do them. Everyone needs cupholders in the rear bumper.
- Look at the options available for the GX460. Some can be directly bolted on to the 4Runner Limited with few to no mods.

Now that that's established, remember that these mods are for HER needs/wants. My wife would personally love to drive a lifted 2WD mall-crawler pickup on massive mud tires with racks and lights everywhere. Maybe this woman is like that, maybe not.

Thanks for all the replies. No, not necessarily required to purchase from a particular dealer, but the family/friends discount available through the local dealer owner seemed to be an attractive deal.

Test drove an XC90 today and as some of you noted, the creature comforts on it are absolutely excellent. Trying out a GX460 on Monday.

Any idea how much flexibility Lexus has in their prices? Interested in a mildly-optioned GX460. I'll poke around on the Lexus forum too.
