Headlight adjustment

2001 runner. I see the adjustment screws on the adjacent corners of the holder but not sure which to adjust to raise and lower the beam. Anyone done it?

Yes, the easiest way to adjust them is with a flathead screwdriver, from the top.

But there is one at the top, and one on the bottom.
The top: left-aims down / right-aims up
The Bottom: left-aims left / right-aims right

I think! You just have to play with it and watch it. Hopefully someone chimes in and corrects me if I'm wrong, but I've done it a few times this year.

Pretty sure you mean Phillips. The bit engages the white gear perfectly. You need a long Phillips to get the bottom one. This is the method in the FSM.

Oh, I've never used a phillips head. I use a long semi-small flathead and twist it while in the gears of the adjusters. It spins it and adjusts as I turn. So phillips might work as well, but I'm confirmed on flatheads.

Thats funny because I felt the same way with the flat. It seemed to rotate around the gears perfectly. Hmm...

Thanks. I found out by trying. Mine only has one adjuster on the bottom for up and down and one on the top for right and left. This probably isn't in the book but what I did was tape a pencil to the face of the lens pointed out, lined it up with a dot on a board and adjusted the two the same amount. Had to raise them up because of the lift in the rear because of new springs and shocks. When I raise the front, I can move them back down.

Sounds about right. And that sounds good. Any adjustment is good in my eyes, as some people disregard doing it completely. And yeah, my explanation is a jist of the idea on adjusting. Top and bottom adjusters might do vice versa things, I don't remember entirely.
But glad you got it figured out.

flathead works as more of a pushing tool to move the gear around. The Phillips will work like another gear to turn it. Mine must have been seized up because by the time I got it to move, I had sheared all the teeth off. oops
