Hi All,

I am hoping someone can help me with my headlight dilemna. About a week ago BOTH of my headlights went out. I did not check the actual headlights to see if they were burnt out b/c I assummed it would be just to rare for them to go out that the same time. I have replaced the relay (about $17) for the headlights and that did not fix the problem. My brights work when flashed. My fog lights work. Also the yellow riding lights work (the ones that come on when you only turn the headlight switch halfway). Am I only down to the headlight switch? Or is there possibly a fuse for the headlights that I am unaware of? Any advice would be appreciated!!!

maybe both bulbs went at the same time, did u by any chance replace the stocks with silverstars or something at the same time?

Thanks for the post. The 3-4 people I had talked to previously said no way both headlights went out at the same time, but now you and someone else I just spoke to suggested it could be the actual headlights. Will check those over the next 24 hrs!

ive known people that have replaced their bulbs with plus ones, both at the same time, & didnt wear gloves, sometimes they both went, other times 1 then a week or 2 later the other.

The low-beam headlights are the same as the foglights so it's not gonna cost anything to swap them in. This same exact thing happened to me several months ago and I thought WTF!?!?!?
Swapped out the headlights and that was it. I'm running Sylvania SylverStar Ultras now in both low beams & fogs.

It may NOT be what's wrong, but sometimes the problem has the simplest solution...

Good stuff, thanks for the replies. Looking forward to seeing if it is something as simple as changing the bulbs.

yes there is a headlight fuse... it is very possible that both went out at the same time.. it will happent if there is high resistance in one of them like a melted connector.. check the terminals if there is alot of corrosion in it

Fixed!!!

Thanks for the replies. Should have started with the basics as someone stated....both headlights were burnt out. Replaced them and all is well!
