Headlights blowing

I did the H9 mod with Phillips bulbs. Loved the results but then yesterday after a little over a year, the drivers side blew in the morning and then the passengers side blew later that evening. Driving home with fogs only = no fun.

Freaky coincidence or something more? The only thing I could think of was heavy rains day before last but doesn't look overtly like water got in near bulbs...

Probably a coincidence. The H9 bulbs are meant for high beam applications and being a higher wattage, their lifespan is considerably shorter especially when you consider they are running for longer periods of time in the low beams, as opposed to the high beam they were designed for.
This is exactly why I always have a spare set of bulbs in my vehicle at all times. You just never know.

seems strange they both blew at the same time. it is true and I have had to deal with higher wattage lamps in a fixture that causes the lamps to burn out sooner due to the higher heat. more watts more heat sooner failure.
