Heard a rattle from under the truck...

Grrrrr....2 heat shields: above the resonator and in rear above tail pipe....10mm nuts rusted solid.....applied wd40 no movement even with a dewalt portable impact gun.....10mm nuts. Looks like the holes elongated from corrosion.....I removed them.... now what??? Go to the dealer?....is the heat in that area that bad.....??
On the picture.....was originally 1.2GB
Had to go black n white and reduce quite a bit to get to the 136 kb limit
Anyways .....anyone else have to remove their rotted heat shields off ???

Ok....dug a little deeper and found...

Did a better search the second time around and found that....
This has happened to others too....
Some folks discard them....
I dunno ..... feel like they should be remounted. But I can't seem to get any one of those fasteners loose.
Maybe someone with a better view can guide me

My big one over the muffler fell down and was rubbing on the driveshaft. Scared the crap out of me on the highway. I pulled into a parking lot at the next exit and was able to coerce it out without tools or gloves.

It has now been absent the past two months with no noticeable difference.
