Just wanted to say hi. I just joined. I don't own a toyota. My mother owns a 2004 4runner sr5 v6.

Quick question, My mother called me up and said that the rear wiper is not working. So i went and looked at it for while and could not find the problem. Checked all the fuses. Front wiper works but the rear does not work at all. It wont even spray water. So now i am here to get some help from you guys before i take the car to the dealer. I am a car guy myself and love working on cars. But for some reason i can't find the problem.

Well thanks again.

Close the rear window all the way. Roll it down, then all the way back up and hold it for 5 seconds. Also, make sure the wiper is seated properly in it's little holder on the tailgate.

Rolling the back window down and back up could fix the problem. Try it . I had the same problem a few days ago. Did it and problem fixed. If that doesn't work then u may have to take it to the dealer.

BTW I found the answer to the problem here .. :bigok:

Holy ****! This is a joke! The rear window was not up all the way. Problem fixed! Wow thanks guys. Nice safety feature.

Now time for a tranny fluid change.

:iagree: That should fix it. And i bet the rear defroster button doesn't light up either, does it?

Yes it did fix the problem. I did not try the defroster button but i bet it works now.

Amazing truck i tell you. For the past 7 years that she has owned it, Never ever gave her any problems.

You won't get any argument here about T4R's and Toyota's in general being very reliable. I'm on my 3rd T4R and 6th Toyota overall. Of the previous 5, I logged close to 1,000,000 miles and at least 2 of those are still in service. None ever gave me any serious problems.

That does it, doesn't it? This is what toyota stands for, Reliable and Safe!
