I am looking to upgrade my 05 Lights to a projector/halo setup. I do not want to do the 06 mod as I dont want to have the weird blend with my front grill and newer headlights and dont want to deal w the trip pieces, etc. I am wondering what all I need/what should I look into in order to do this mod. I have read up and can't seem to find a how to for dummies. I am pretty capable when given access to the knowledge. Feel free to post what you did with the parts and pictures or post threads that I might have missed that give the step by step. Thanks!

First off, it's a lot of work to retrofit the 03-05 housings. It's no bolt in and go. Did a complete retro on my old accord with TSX projectors. Lots of time to get correct alignment. I'd use the FXR or the rx350 projectors. I would study HID planet and the retrofit source for parts and info. Any and all info is on those websites. I just did the Mori Moto D2S 4.0 projectors in some 2006 housings. Only way to go in my opinion. THe little gap in the trim pieces is not a big deal. A little piece of trimmed plastic paint body color fixes that. Your gonna spend $500 minimum on a quality retrofit. And my money would be on 2006+ housings. So much easier. I have a set of oem 2004 housings that I might do as a extra set in my spare time. But almost not worth it.

I'm hoping to do the same with a set of 2004 OEM headlights in the next couple months. My plan is to go with the Morimoto D2S 4.0 bixenon, using 45W ballasts and high beam splitters to maintain a functional OEM high beam, in addition to the D2S high beam...just trying to figure out what to put in the high beam to make it actually give some extra lumination since I expect the D2S high beam to overpower the halogen. Maybe go with some sort of LED set up like I've seen some guys do on here, just not sure what to do.

I should clarify what I did exactly. I used the oem 2006+ projector brackets and modified them to fit the Mori Moto 4.0 projectors. Awesome fit. I also used the 35 watt Mori Moto HID kit with upgraded Phillips 4300K bulbs. I used the high beam splitter to run HID high beams and OEM high beams. The lights are absolutely awesome at night. LED are terrible in the high beams. The light pattern sucks. Just my opinion.

What I had meant by LED in high beams was more of the multiple LED spot lights retrofitted into the high beam position--that way I get more light than halogen and can flash them if necessary (which would be harder on an HID bulb). I've also considered just putting something like the Sylvania ZXE bulbs in the high beam spot, but wasn't sure if they'd even show anything more on the road than the HIDs on "high".
I guess that's my biggest question--do you really even notice your factory brights with the HID brights on?

In the 03 headlights I couldn’t see the high beam vs the hid low.
In the 06 headlights I can.
That speaks more to the better control of light in the projectors than anything else. Way more light put out in the early ones, but plenty of glare.
