Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery ground to reset the computer and ya that is NOT a good idea to keep running it low. .

As for the most of you who had something clever to say, you're all a bunch bullies.

Someone not too long ago on this site said that this was the rudest forum he/she has been on, and I hate to admit it but I think its true. A lot of users go to these forums to learn more about their vehicle, so yeah, we might not know as much, but that doesn't mean you can bash another forum member for it.

If i could have more than 1/4 gas in my tank all the time, that would be amazing but I'm fairly young and don't make a lot of money and gas has been crazy expensive lately.

Young or poor basic math still applies. Drive X miles will need X amount of fuel so there is no saving money. If things are so tight that filling up must wait an extra day you may want to consider selling your expensive truck and buying something used and cheaper.

Here's some advice: If you continue to do this you will require a new fuel pump. That will run you well north of $1000.00 because of it's location and the labor required. That equates to 20 full tanks of gas, or in your world 160 1/8ths tanks of gas. So you can't afford the gas? Sell the 4Runner and buy something you can afford to operate correctly. BTW the fuel pump WILL fail if you keep operating it in this fashion. After running any pump of this type like you have has already reduced it's efficiency. You are about to learn a very expensive lesson.

Guess what: If you travel "X" miles you will use the same amount of gasoline whether your tank is on "E" or if it is 1/2 full. To replace that gas used will require the same amount of money. Do it right, spend the same amount of money and you will be fine.

I would buy the old "I'm a poor young guy" routine if you didn't post this "Btw, the most miles I got on a full tank of gas is 452 miles, and I am always trying to see if I can get more" in your original post. You posted that, not me.

actually, not running your gas tank dry is pretty much Driving For Dummies 101. nothing to do with "learning about your vehicle." if you think this forum is rude you should really get out more.

#1 whether you buy that gas you need this week or next it's the same amount of gas. running your tank dry is going to cost you...wait for it... more!

Finally had the chance to pick up a set in LGM, and I am very pleased with them! Special thanks to Dustin @ FN Wheels for going above and beyond throughout the whole process. He was a very professional and accommodating seller and I couldn't wish for more. I had them installed at a local Phillips Tire Co with some Michelin LTX MS2. Here is a pic after I gave it a wash:

This reminds me of a gentleman who frequents my apartment complex regularly. Pulls up in his 1500HD on chromed out 22s and then proceeds to pick through the dumpster for cans. Priorities?

you're right, i didn't know that story. the only story i know is the one you told in the first post of this thread and the end of that story is still the same: stop running your gas tank dry.
