Help! Bluetooth phone pair

I just recently updated my Motorola Droid to "Froyo" (android 2.2) and now can't get my phone to pair with the truck. It was paired with no problem before I updated.

Has anyone else had a problem with Froyo?

Have you tried deleting it from the headunit and re-pairing it?

I can't help otherwise. I have an iphone 4 that "just works".

Yeah tried that. And its probably because I hacked my phone. But it did work before the android 2.2. I think it has to do with me hacking my phone.

And I wont buy another iPhone. Android is just so nice.

I was just taking a piss about the iphone. I use macs at home, so it makes sense to stick with iphones for me. I've barely used Androids, but I've been really, really happy with my iphone 4. I'm not the type to mod or hack, so that is probably the difference between us.

Yeah I'm not a big hacker myself, had a friend do it so I could do some customizing. But Im going to get the Droid X and that will not be hacked.

I have a MacBook Pro but can't fully drink the Steve Jobs KoolAid yet. Not till the iPhone comes to Verizon.

I have a Blackberry. My problem is the phone puts the radio in "talk" mode every time I start the vehicle. I have to make a call and terminate it before it goes back to radio.

The dealership couldn't figure it out either. I also don't have the steering wheel command functions. Everything has to be initiated from my phone.

The no steering wheel commands is a blackberry issue. My iphone didn't have the steering wheel commands until iOS 4.1 came out and Apple updated the bluetooth profiles.

I am the happy new owner of a SR5 4Runner (even though I let go of my 2005 4Runner and it broke my heart to see it driven away), but I have spent some time in the past 24 hours that I have had the new Runner fiddling with the Bluetooth stuff. First, if you have a non-nav head unit, and a Droid (first Moto Droid), good luck getting all your contacts into the car phonebook en mass. Believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING. I gave up and just manually uploaded a few contacts one at a time. My Droid is rooted, and is running a vanilla 2.2 Froyo ROM, so I am in your boat too. I think it has to do with the head unit, and not the phone.

I would turn off the bluetooth on your Droid, turn off the car, turn the car back on, turn on your Droid's bluetooth, and then try pairing again. If that fails, try rebooting your phone.

BTW, are you running a custom ROM or just running a rooted Droid? If you have a custom ROM, try a different ROM and see if that works.

Yeah i am. Smoked Glass theme, its dope. I was able to pair my phone with my computer after a try or two. So I guess I will have to try something different in the car.

Yukon - I don't think the non-nav head unit will transfer contacts all at once. I just hit the 'voice control' button on my iphone and it uses the microphone in the 4Runner to listen for my voice command. It works great and I didn't have to mess with transferring contact after contact.

Yeah, but what a bummer that we cannot transfer all the contacts. Oh well, I actually only use a few of my 200 contacts regularly anyway

As an aside, my wife just brought home the Droid Incredible, and it really is fantastic. It is much faster than my overclocked Moto Droid (overclocked to 1.1 ghz).

in short, I've spent countless hours trying to fix this problem as the O.P. Rooted Droid Cyo 6.0 Android 2.2.

Very frustrating since everything worked perfectly before the rooted upgrade.
