Hello ladies & gents,
As the title states, I am writing this thread this evening wanting to ask a favor. To all of you around the forum who know me, I've never brought up anything like this (that I recollect).
I know these are some hard times in our present economy, but I want to present an opportunity to help out an extremely small and fragile organization whom needs support to fund their operation.
As those of you in the Air Force may know, here at Lackland AFB, there is a small flight that lays inside of the 324th training/medical squadron. It is relatively new and does not get the appropriate funds. It is called the HOA (Hold-over Airman). This flight is consisted on graduated Airman who are held from tech school due to pending medical waivers, for example, to stay in. Some of the ladies and gentlemen here have been sitting here losing motivation for over 5 months because they still are unable to leave for tech school.
I have experienced life with them for a bit, and quite frankly, it sucks. They are not funded for education opportunities like CLEP, or to get anything they need to survive their days without losing motivation. At the same time, they still work harder than most people providing transportation, keeping the squadron looking good including doing the entire maintainance, and busting their asses everyday to build the HOA and give themselves respect throughout the base, and try to earn even a few new study books, or a cup of coffee to keep them awake to keep doing what they're doing.
Long story short, I want to try to make a donation for the fine men and women who deserve atleast something to call theirs, since they are severely underfunded. I'd appreciate anyone who can do so. All I ask is maybe a few bucks.
If anyone would like to support them to keep their heads up, please let me know. I myself have even spent 50 bucks just today for coffee and hot chocoa with supplies to keep them going a little.
Thanks!
