Help! Install issue on energy suspension body mounts

Agreed, since the "Rep" here wants to talk down to a client maybe their packaging or description should state the month on it. How many 99 4runner owners are gonna buy the wrong set? My 3RZ was built in Oct & I def plan on buying this set & it would have been wrong.

Yes, plus...I'm not sure how to read that date notation. It looks like it says some 06/99s may have the new set up. I have seen those where they don't have the same month in the date limits as is common when it takes place at the end of a model year. I'm thinking the June's could be either way.

Now, tell me why someone should feel it necessary to "do more homework" when buying a kit that is advertised as the correct kit for that year?! Split years are very common, and we've all seen part descriptions that talk about verifying what exact vehicle type you have before ordering.
COB has one of the baddest 3rd gens here, but the big attitude from a rep talking down to a customer really sucks.
It would have been much cooler to see "Hey, it looks like your '99 was built after the body mount changes were made by Toyota, and you need the '00+ kit. I work at ES, and am actually responsible for the '96-99 kit. Sorry if my pics suck! Shoot me a PM if there is anything I can do to help you get the right kit!"
Now THAT would have made a good impression on everyone here about ES.

I noticed that too... WTF? I'd really love to know who the team behind the 3rd gen design is. Particularly, I'd love to have a discussion with the fellow who designed the 1996 cupholders.
I'm thinking that aftermarket companies like ES should look at FSMs before assigning specific year ranges for products like this. I do realize the 6/99 problem is rather hard to conclude since it will require a sample of 6/99 4Runners - not exactly the easiest thing in the world to assemble. With that said, I don't think it looks good on the company for the account manager to talk like that to a random forum member with a valid issue. Also, I thought 1996 does not include the body mount under the b-pillar.

So you have a 99 with October production date? Interesting, I didn't think they went that late in the production yr and that would make it a 2000. Now does your A pillar body mount (2nd one back from front) have the collar plate with 2 bolts? That's the newer frame update. Although not sure how much a difference you having a 2.7 and me with the 3.4 would make with the production frame change, maybe this didn't happen with the 2.7s.

I checked. The 2.7 pulls up the same diagram as I posted back in my first post for my V6 rig. I too would be surprised at an October 99 date for a MY 99. 10/98 would be MY 1999, but that should be the old format like mine (03/99).

Just to make sure my 99 didn't get a frame swap from an accident or something, I verified vin on frame inside passenger side front wheel well. Frame vin matches body vin. Double checked my title, its a 99 title, verified 7/99 vin sticker production date. So its all a legit oddity.
So the frame diagram you showed, is that a true 99 specific diagram where it shows a choice of 2 possible A pillar body mounts for 99 only? Or is that a multi year frame diagram?

Ok I see how they word it, have to read into it a little theior code, full understanding now ( -9906) and (9906- )
So I would figure the frame bracket a little different to, but ooh well.
OK so I think this was good this all came out, this is something the aftermarket body mount companies need to put in the ordering section. (manufacture up to 6/99 or 7/99 and up)

The diagram is multi year, but the parts list associated is VIN specific. If I click on part 52203E, then the parts list will return the correct p/n for that VIN. So my 03/99 comes back 52203-35200, which is the one on the left. If I do a generic 2001, I get 52203-35250 which is the one on the right.
Try your VIN at TOYOTA | Japan Parts EU and see what you get when you click on 52203E. I'm curious.

If anyone wants to get a more specific build date, look for the rectangular sticker on the front brake dust shields. It may or may not still be there. I have a 7/96 manufactured on 7/26/96 according to that. I have yet to see an 8/xx that did not fall under the next model year.

Ok so this is what we figured out thanks to my order mishap and the input from TheDurk frame diagram he provided and frame swap findings. This all relating to the frame changeover date. The A pillar body mount being different on the frame change. This looking as accurate unless there is something that can be found to the contrary.
3rd gen Body mount bushing kit order as follows -
***up to 6/99 production date order the kit that is 1999 specific
***7/99 and up production date order the kit that is 2000 specific

Yeah I think so. But if one wants to make sure, a simple look at the (A) pillar bushing will determine correct one.
***(A) pillar bushing sleeve/collar with 2 bolts = newer frame 2000+ kit
***(A) pillar bushing matching (C) pillar bushing = 1999 kit
