HELP- Just REGEARED to 4.88' now a potential problem?

So I have had my truck back for a month now after having it re-geared to 4.88's. Prior to it going into the shop it shifted fine from Park to Reverse to Drive. Now after I start it up and shift it into Reverse it lurches slightly and then again lurches slightly from Reverse into Drive.

Should I be worried?

Did they do something wrong at the shop?

As far as going down the road there is no whine or any type of grinding noise. Its just that prior to having this done this never happened.

With those low gears, the drivetrain has much more mechanical advantage to move the vehicle. Ie: the truck will be much more responsive.

If there are no odd noises like whining, etc. I'd consider it a normal side-effect of the much lower gearing.

Ever had your truck in low range? It will do the same thing. Not a problem.

mine did the same thing... dont worry, i bet its only doing this when cold, once it warms up and the idle drops down you wont notice it as much. honestly i dont notice it anymore, and ive only been regeared for a month or so now... your good man

Shorter gearing multiplies torque to the wheels, that's how physics works. You'll need more brake pressure than before to keep it from moving.
