someone asking 20k for a 4Runner with 90k miles is essentially not for sale.

Interesting...this post helps. I'm thinking a dealer's asking price of $20k for a 2008 with 37k miles might be worth it...they provide 1 year of maintenance free (lol just an oil change, I know!) and I guess getting a clean bill of health from Toyota might be worth something...

I purchased my 2007 SR5 v6 with 110k for $14,500 out the door from the dealership approx 1 month ago.
I was able to pay cash...via my jeep being totaled...but I feel I got a good enough deal.
I love the T4R and am starting the process of fluid changes, chasing down squeaks, etc...

Never came back to this thread.. I ended up purchasing the car for 16k cash back in march..

the guy kept getting his KBB value based on the car having 37k miles, the last time the cars info was entered in some sort of national database.. I was able to explain to him why he was mistaken.. and that he needed to rerun the KBB info with the correct mileage and id pay him excellent condition price for it..

He had a guy who couldn't get the loan and so he settled with me.. I drove up took it for a ride.. looked to have a front end crash that was fixed and not on carfax.. he denied it, but it was obvious the bumper cross bar was replaced and the grille was slightly crooked, and paint was basically perfect.. I didn't think it was a massive crash just a fender bender IMO, but was fixed very well..

with that being said, it cost me 1k in taxes.. and I've put in about 2500 in upgrades and maintenance...

Thx for the update! Sounds like a slightly sketchy seller but glad you got what u wanted in the end.

I'm happy to say I signed the same order today for the 2008 Sport V8 4WD w/ 37k miles for $22k on the road. I haven't taken my Nissan Pathfinder for an appraisal yet so hopefully that saves me some more although I'm bracing myself for a $500 appraisal. (1998 w/ $150,000 with a little rust and a few dents).

Can't wait to pick her up this weekend!
