HELP Needed with KDSS lift

Greetings,

I have read through the forums here and I need help. I am running into the issue with this.

I went to put Toytec 2.5 boss on my 2014 TE, with Total Chaos UCA. I installed the UCA's with no issues. I am running into problems with the springs though.

Here is the process I did.

1. Lifted vehicle, unconnected the spindles. unconnected the KDSS from the LCA (I think I should have done this while it was on the ground)?

2. removed OE UCA
3. Removed OE shock assembly
4. Inserted Toytec Boss 2.5 shock assembly. While doing this I had no support on the KDSS piston in the front
4a. (Do I need to support this with a jack? at this point I have only disconnected the sway bar from the LCA, do I need to disconnect the sway bar from the brackets holding it under the engine compartment?

5. After installing both shocks and new UCAs I went to re-attach the sway bar with the vehicle in the air and HORRIBLE experience. Now the bushing and the brackets do not sit in their original factory bar metal location on the sway bar, they sit about 2 inches further up. How do I fix this?

I AM lost and would really like to talk with someone over the phone about this if possible.

If you are willing to help me please send me a PM and I will send you my phone number. Or if you live in North Carolina Raleigh area and are willing to work for beer please let me know as well.

I am also looking for a video or a picture gallery that could help me with this issue.

Matt

I'm in the Raleigh nc area and am planning to install a lift on my kdss vehicle in the very near future so unfortunately I'm not going to be of much help but good luck getting it sorted out

I have read that, my question is after installing the springs did you notice that the front bushings did not sit in there factory location "the end of the sway bar"? Mine seem to be sitting about an inch or so further up the sway arm.

You mean like in this picture? As far as I can tell, it's normal, mine was like this too and didn't have issues. In the future though, please provide pictures to make it easier to visualize and assist.

I apologize I am on staff duty right now and have no way of getting a picture my vehicle is at home. I do not see you picture

Sorry, no experience with doing it, just thought the thread might help as it was a very detailed how-to. Good luck.

As long as your KDSS bar is re-connected, you should be fine. I would drive around a bit and let everything settle. I have a feeling your bushings are in a different spot because you re-connected the sway bar with the lower control arms at full droop. In the future, it is much easier to re-attach the KDSS bar with the vehicle back on the ground. It is also easier to attach the passenger side first, then the driver's side. And no, you do not have to support the KDSS piston. Just let it fully extend while you are performing the lift, then use a jack to coerce it back into position when you are re-attaching.
