Help please - Exterior molding/trim issues

Sorry for the new thread, I searched Google, YouTube and this forum for help on our 4Runners exterior side molding trim that is loose on both sides. Whenever we go through a car wash or drive long enough the molding pops out.

My question is... What all should I get to re-attach this stuff? My thought is it's mostly broken plastic clips and I can see where the previous owners even tried to glue it on. My goal is to do whatever it takes to get these back on rock solid so they stay. I haven't ruled out construction adhesive.

I was on Amazon trying to find the right clips and rubber tools and was getting kind of lost. Any suggestions, links, videos, etc?

Thanks in advance!

A little confused. Your sig line doesn't say 5th gen 4Runner...

Assuming you do have a 5th gen is it still under warranty? If the problem is not due to something crazy like abuse or improper collision repair this would most definitely be covered under warranty.

I'll add I have never personally heard or read of this being an issue.

You need to get some butyl tape that's what is it designed for if your clips are broken or call Toyota and buy the clips

Sorry for any confusion, it's a 2005 4Runner with no warranty. I think I put SR5 which is the trim or model, not sure if that was confusing. We bought it through a private sell, so no warranty leftover.

I'll checkout the tape and call the dealership or maybe a Independent shop for the clips. I was hoping to find a bulk clip assortment at a reasonable price online.

Thanks!
