HELP: Starter Location

Some backlog: I haven't been on the forums a lot lately, been enjoying my new toy way too much (Ducati Monster 821, then traded that in for a 1200 R). Long story short, was in a bad accident with a head on collision at 45 mph around a blind turn about a month ago, was in the hospital for a few days, I'm walking and talking, that's all that matters.

Now I got home about 3 weeks later (stayed at my rents for awhile before getting back on my feet). The 4runner had sat there for that time, never started or driven. My girlfriend started it about a week ago but didn't drive it around. Came back home this week and it was completely dead, wouldn't even crank. The yellow top optima is fine, just needs a good charge, but the engine is not wanting to crank even after being jumped. I was told to tap on the starter, but where the hell is the starter???

Can my 5th gen buddies please help me locate the starter?! I cannot do any heavy lifting, standing, or bending down for very long, girlfriend said she would help me with this one lol. Just need a pinpoint location so I can explain to her what to do.

Thanks all!

Damn. Glad to hear you're doing ok. Just went to the garage to snap a pic for you.

Starter is on drivers side behind "waffle looking" heat shield. Take a pry bar or long large screwdriver and bang on it while someone cranks.

Hope you have a easy speedy recovery!
