Help, Will not come out of park

My t4r 1999 sr5 4wd will not come out of park. I looked in the manual and located the shifting solenoid to manually over ride it so I can remove it from park. It seems like something electrical or a bad solenoid? Anyone have any ideas?

well the easiest things to start checking is that the brake lights are working. If you blow a fuse, it won't come out of park. U-haul trailer wiring is how i know. Other thing is if the sensor on the brake pedal itself isn't working properly, then it could cause the same thing. Of course it could be something in the mechanism itself not releasing, but i would start w/ the simple stuff.

Problem solved!! Start checking your fuses!! My tail light fuse was blow, my ecu-b was blown and my stop fuse was blown. I replaced all of them and .... waa laa!! all fixed!
Thats funny you said that "stick Figure" Because this all happened after I used my buddies P.O.S trailer!

did you get it out of park? if not i had this problem when i tried to take the shifter knob off. NOTE! DONT TAKE THE SHIFTER KNOB OFF!! bad news. haha i guess i took it out of alingment and the the safety switch would engage in the wrong spot. I had to remove the fuse that controls my stereo to get it into drive, so i could take it in to the stealership. they fixed it for like $90
