help wit aftermarket head lights

before i got them i thought they were too gaudy. i knew i wanted to ditch my stock headlights because they really sucked. it took seeing them in person on a 4Runner one night which completely convinced me to get them. in person, they are very clean looking, they do not look over done or too flashy. it gives a new and refreshing look to the truck. i was never a fan of flashy and overdone and I am a big fan of these lights. i would completely welcome criticism to these lights once you have honestly seen them in person. but until then, your criticism isnt reliable enough. i have received nothing but compliments on these, even from people i never even met before in a parking lot tell me how great the truck looks with these. also, the light output is very good on these lights. they were exactly what i needed to brighten up the dark windy roads here in north jersey. especially when i installed the 6000K HIDs.

show some output pics and vids and tell me if they are better than my retrofit. i want to see cutoff and on road driving. show me that what you have is good. show me width and distance the lights shine out and no cheating with high beam on.

I agree that crappy headlights are a safety concern. I would never install the crappy aftermarket halos.

The real issue is not the output, but the control over the glare. Yes, your aftermarket headlights may shine your surroundings better than the stock, but they are also shinning into the eyes of oncoming traffic.

There are plenty of auxiliary halogen lights out there that have double the 'output' of projector lights, but what makes them illegal for road use is there is no control on how the light is scattered.


If your headlights have been quality/control tested, then they will be DOT approved. There are plenty of aftermarket companies who take the time to get their lights DOT approved. Is yours one of them?

yes, pretty sure it says it on the bottom of the lens. i will double check tomorrow. also, these are pointed low enough as to not affect other drivers. and for me, the output is good enough for me to never need my high beams. no, i am not saying they are the best, i am saying they are plenty enough and much better than stock, which is what i was going for.
