Help with Steering Rack Bushings

Hey guys,

I've read a ton of steering rack bushing replacement guides, but am stuck on removing the actual bushings.

I have all the nuts / bolts out, but does anyone have tips on removing the driver side bushing and the center mount bushing (without that homemade puller thingie) shown in another guide.

For me the homemade puller with the big socket was critical. If you dont have a big socket find a neighbor who has one and borrow it for a bit.

a combination of big sockets, big washers, a short pipe and a long piece of all-thread.

like you said, the puller made of the washers and the big socket was really helpful. for the others, i had a 6" C-clamp that i used to press them out, and also i used a large channel locks to pull them out too.
