Help!!!

RunnerEM

Wanted to see if I could get some advice from anyone who's had the same problem or anything similar to this. Turned the 4runner on and check engine light came on. I put two different scanners on the car and both gave me the same codes. P0300,301,302,303,304,305,306. Computer shows all 6 cylinders misfiring and it also "told" me that the vehicle had the wrong spark plugs or they were already bad. I replaced the plugs and cables and the car is running the same. Still misfiring and motor will not stop shacking. This vehicle is a 2001 3.4 liter V6. 98,000 miles. zif anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Thank you all.

So the problem was happening before you changed the plugs and wires, then you changed the plugs and wires and nothing changed? Or did this start happening after you changed things? What kind of plugs and wires did you put in? Are you certain that you paired the cylinders correctly when you connected the wires? If not, you will get what you are describing.

If you are standing in front looking at the engine, the cylinders are numbered...

...and paired by the wires as 1-4, 3-6, 5-2.

Agreed, you need to give more background on what happened before the codes showed up? did this just all the sudden start happening, or did you change something?

I replaced them with OEM replacements from the Toyota dealer. Dont remember the part number but I did compare them to the ones the vehicle originally had and the part numbers matched on the plugs. The cables I bought at an XL parts and those are Beckarley's. The thing is that this car was not driven or started up since September 2012. I bought it at a very decent price and I knew coming in I was going to put in several hundred dollars but didnt think I would take this long in fixing it. The problem was happening before I put in the new spark plugs and wire. And the cylinders are paired up correctly. Thank you guys for responding
