It overheard bc I was on it too much in a low gear. Which caused it to overheat. I ran it pretty hard

Technically speaking, the tranny was the same in both models (according to the post above), this was not a V6 failure, it was the transmission. The engine is running fine. Would have happened with the V8 attached as well. How does the engine affect the failure of the tranny other than it sends power through the input shaft to the transmission? Added torque would have probably made the system fail sooner! If a clutch-pack goes, it goes. The engine has no bearing on that. The engine still ran fine, I'm sure.
Funny I haven't heard of the supercharged V6 failing if it's so weak... Geeze people if he'd blown a tire around here they'd blame it on the V6!
The A750f was not released until 2003 - so your're wrong again as that was for an 02 sequoia. LOL @ your rationalizations.
Then the transfer case would have issues as that is where the reduction is done. You sure its not the transfer case? That does not look like trans fluid.
Im not fond with engine components but do I have a transfer case even if mine is 2wd?
Clearly the reddish tone on the fluid indicates transmission fluid.
Obviously, the chance of failure for any machine increases as you work it beyond its intended purpose/capability.
Anybody with a V8...go hook your SUV up to a double axle trailer and a Bobcat skid steer and see how that sweet engine, transmission, and transmission cooler work for you.
Ahahaha.
Well hopefully all goes well with this new transmission. I really like to drift on dirt corners etc. Guess no more of that for me unless yall have some advice on how to prep my runner before-hand.
Never thought I would be ruining my tranny all this time
Yes, the V8 has had no reported failures in the near 13 years that its been in production. Since the 1998 100 series.
I am not saying you are wrong, but how do I know that you are correct? Just out of curiosity, off what information are you basing this statement? Just because you've never heard of a failure, are you basing this off of some report? I would genuinely like to know. Thanks.
If its engine related - yet another serious V6 failure.
Are the rates of failure really that high on the v6's? Compared to the v8's? (Currently shopping for a used 4th gen and am still on the fence about v6/v8 to have as a reliable, long-lasting daily driver...)
.
No, don't listen to that guy. He's just biased and not very good when it comes to statistics. He seems to think that the world revolves around this forum and nothing else matters. In his mind, if nobody in this forum ever reported a V8 engine failure, then it couldn't possibly have happened.
My guess is that 99.9% of V6 owners have no failures whatsoever. It's a solid engine.
