I don't know yet how well they fit, they will arrive any day now.

How did these end up working? Did they satisfactorily fill the gap w/ the Nav install?

I just confirmed that the 3-wire hookup for nav on the 03/04 JBL 10-speaker amp WILL NOT work. I have the new seqouia amp it worked then swapped it out with the 10-speaker JBL amp and the voice dissapears. Folks from the Sienna forum have also comfirmed it.

When i did my install i had the same issue (My harness/wires were different then others had documented.)... see the bundle of wires on the right of your photo.... i just dug into that and foudn a wire that match teh color (red with yellow?).. If i remember right there were 2 or 3 that matched... it tapped into it and it worked. (yes... probably a tad risky... but not really.. and it worked:)) There are a lot of wires there, so try to break apart the bundle and dig into it.. you will find the right wire.

Is there anyone with 03 4runner

Hi. I looked though the post and found that nobody seem to have a problem with wiring. Interesting, am i the only one to have a 4runner with this wierd colors, or should i just plug the reverse sensor and hope that it works.

What is a reverse sensor? What is the voltage that goes to that input? I guess i can just look for it with a voltmeter. It should be simple just put in a reverse and check? Or is it. Is there a special signal.

Thankx.

i just installed the eclipse avn5500 into my 2004 sport with the same instructions as the toyota navi ..... good stuff and alot easier. only problem is the gps antena. i put it all the way back between the air ducts and i still get verrrrrrrryyy crappy reception. anyone have a pic of where they put theirs ? i would love to keep it under the dash. also i read that the backup cam wire was already in the dash for the 2004+ 4runners i didnt see it anywhere. is there a connector already in the tailgate for the cam ? or do i have to run the wire all the way back to the headunit ?

If you look into the opening where your HU goes, look at the "ceiling", just to the left of the opening, and you will see an unused screw-hole. I attached my antenna there using the bracket that it came on and a 1/2 inch screw. If your antenna doesn't have a bracket, use a small L bracket and zip tie the antenna to it, then attach the L backet to the ceiling of the dash, making sure that the GPS antenna is level on a horizontal plane (you can bend the L bracket as needed). I get great reception in this spot.

Orange LEDS

YES YES I put the orange LEDs into my navigation system (finally) and walla everything looks just great! I even put them LEDs into the back where cds go!

Now i just want to find that reverse wire and add a reverse camera that would be great.

I also wondered if there is a disk changer that can be controlled by this navigation system Does anyone know?

2003 SR5 Wiring

Thanks guys for the post about voltage on the reverce sensor It is 12V when car is in reverse. The wiring diagram is CORRECT!! even though wires are colored differently. I also found out that there is a break and park signal.
Next stop: Backup camera.

Navigation

Pete, Seems you are the right guy to ask you some questions regarding a navigatio install. I purchased the 2007 Model for a Solara to OEMvalue.com but apparently this unit is a bit smaller in height in reference to the original 4runner model. Because of that reason I was told I ned to install a dash bezel which up to today's day hacen't been able to buy either at the dealer or at any toyota part retailer. My radio comes flush with the dash and I've noticed the navigation is a bit recessed from the dash, my question is if when the radio is removed the dash comes in and gives room for the navigation? Also, do you know where can I buy the dash bezel? Your install guidelines are very good, I printed them to give them to the tech guys when installing. I'm stalled and don't know which direction to take, I'll appreciate your input.

As i know from all postings here you got 2 choises either make the part yourself or get an SR5 Dash cover.

i got SR model and had no problem installing it.

What was the Toyota P/N of the SR5 bezel that worked for you with the navigation system? I have a '06 Limited 4x4 4Runner with a flush radio bezel and need a silver SR5 (w/ 4x4) recessed version; However, when my local dealership looks up a new bezel using a VIN from a '07 SR5 4x4 (with a recessed bezel), they list four different possible P/Ns;

55405-35340 (this seems to be the one I need)?
55405-35370 ?
55404-35380 ?
55405-35400 (I think this is a flush bezel)

Can anyone confirm which bezel (needs to have the hole for the 4x4 selector) is the proper recessed one for a E7009 nav system?

Also, are all the bezels silver?

Thanks.....

Sorry I have the SR5 model. I was just saying that you need one from SR5 so there are no holes.

Does anybody if the 2008 dash opening has changed from the previous years? I contacted oemvalue to see if this unit would fit in my 2008 sport non-jbl, but i got a reply saying "if the dash opening hasn't change then yes".

To All:

I recently installed the Toyota Navigation system from oemvalue.com in my 2003 4Runner Sport. There were a few issues I had in getting the system to work 100% (speed & reverse sensor, antenna amplifier). After a lot of research, the job is complete and I put together some instructions/downloads for anyone looking to complete the same.

Since there is a lot of data from the Shop Manuals, I put a link to my website so you can download.

Good luck and let me know what you think.

Pete: I'm getting a failed link notice - any chance you can check to see if this is still good, or let me know how I might get this info?

I just pulled two pins from the harness that were used for the rear audio (wireless headphones). Then I cut the wires and connected them to the "voice speaker/amp"

Hi I am doing this install and praying that u still use this forum.

Anyways I ws reading this and read it wrong and was under the impression that you used those wires to go back to the amp. But now I realized that uo just pulled those pins out of the plug and used them for those to wires. Anyways. Now that I Have thought about it. Does any of the wires for the rsa run all the way back to the amp? If so maybe we could use those wires to run back to the amp.

I have a 2003 limited with 6 disk cd changer 10 speaker Jbl system.

Thanks.
