Hey everybody! Bought a 4Runner tonight...

Finally took Betty in to get her ball joint replaced (still under the recall) and also had them rotate and balance all four tires because I had noticed she vibrates at higher speeds. Should have done that last month. She drives SO much smoother now. Life a different car.

Creeping up on 60K miles.

Went on my first road trip yesterday. Averaged about 16.65 MPG mostly all on highway. Is that pretty standard?

Oh yeah, also wanted to update...

Drove her from Pittsburgh to Dayton OH and back last weekend. On the way there, I averaged probably 70-75 MPH and got about 18MPG. On the way back, I set my cruise at 64 MPH and let everyone and their grandmothers pass me and averaged over 22 MPG. Holy crap what a difference the speed makes.

From Pbg to Dayton you may have driven into a westerly headwind, and from Dayton to Pbg, you may have had a westerly tailwind. I am from PA, and we do get most of our wind from the north and west, and it has been pretty windy around here lately.

The headwind/tailwind, along with the speed difference, may have combined to give you such a relatively large increase in mpg.

Hey Bust.....if you are looking for specific parts, I've found eBay to be a pretty good source. There are thousands of parts to be had at fairly reasonable prices....just a suggestion is to price compare for awhile before diving in and buying....that same part will probably be listed again by someone else real quick and probably be cheaper too....welcome to the wonderful world of the 4Runner!! enjoy cruising in your new ride!!!! :driving:
