you'll sound like a bread truck too. not to mention the height of the 4bt. I've seen an rb powered patrol and it was excellent so I assume a similar motor in a runner would be fun aswell.

Pictures are worth a million words;)

Yeah yea I know

Need to fig this iPhone out to do that

I've rode in a LC 4bt and it's nice but it's loud

I really like Singtoe v8
I just really nail it dwn which way I want to go

I do 95% city driving but would like to cruise at 70 without
Killing the rpms

Keeping n open mind

I had a B230ft volvo brick back in the day. Put a $.99 "boost controller" on it and probably made close to 300ft lbs of torque before I got scared and put it back to stock. There was turbo lag, and while it made a lot of torque, I would not consider it a good truck engine for something as heavy as a 3rd gen.

4bt has probably the best power/torque delivery for a truck application, but it is a loud, stinky dinosaur and it is also VERY tall from oil pan to valve cover and I'm guessing it will require a body lift to fit under the hood.

If you want a good diesel, I would look at the isuzu 4bd1t instead of the Cummins. Pretty similar design and construction, but more easily rebuildable, more available parts (this came in many Isuzu, Chevy and GMC box trucks). But the kicker is it is much quieter and smoother (i.e. won't wake up your neighbors or rattle your teeth out).

If you don't want a diesel, I think the 5.3 chevy is a good choice. It will bolt up to a wide variety of GM or toyota transmissions with an adapter, good power, reliable, not too heavy. There are enough people out there running this motor in land cruisers, that you should be able to sort out the wiring just by digging through some build threads.

My $.02. Let's see a build thread :D

Volvo b230 running on lh2.2 with a cam turbo and full porting done will easily get you 300hp(and great gas milage) Great solid motor that will safely do that hp. want more? find a b234 head (16 valve) and swap it onto the motor and a bigger turbo and youll make 5. Now my question is what trans are you gonna put behind your motor choice? Mustang t-5 and getreg transmission addapter plates are easy to find for the Volvo.

I agree. 5.3 chevy and 6L80E trans. or 6.0 motor if you can find one cheap enough. Great reliable power and ridiculous power if you upgrade the motor while its out. If I had the funds and skills I wouldn't even consider anything else.
