HID kit help (DDM)

hey guys so i got the HID's installed it wasn't too bad I had a buddy help me out with some of the brain work. As for the the weather rubber grommet things, no cutting is necessary. just boil them or run them under hot water and then they will allow it to stretch right over the shield and bulb.
(my buddy came up with that)
I went skiing tonight so i didn't really get any good pictures of the light output but holy crap they are awesome! the 4500k is more of a grayish white it seems. I could see everything and nobody flashed me on the way home from the mountain. The high-beams dont seem to be a difference in well lit neighborhoods but on the open road i could tell a difference.

As for the installation it took me about the same as yall and as for the hangups on short wires and stuff i didn't really see that?? Ill take some pictures tomorrow of where i installed everything. I got it to be pretty stealth, i found some areas to hide the wires and the ballast. As for the ballast I just used 3m sticky tape. i could figure out how to zip tie them on there

I may aim the lights a little lower im still not sure on this one. Is it easy?

Those look good man.

It's crazy how many of these things sell.

I bought my last kit about a month ago and since then they have sold 11,500 more.
 
thanks clemson, yeah thats crazy how many they pop out of there, hopefully their making bank! Good to hear yours shipped they are obviously working pretty dang hard over there

Ill post some nicer pics tomorrow or if i can get off my ass and grab my tripod ill shoot some tonight...

Let me try.

Glare is basically light that ventures where it's not supposed to. On most stock vehicles you will see a pretty nice line where the light starts and stops. The problem with HIDs in a reflector housing that is not retrofitted is that it doesn't control the light very well.

The shield from DDM attempts to stop light from going to the bottom of the housing. If light gets down there then it will be reflected up and could potentially blind someone.

Some people complain and say that nobody should put HIDs in a reflector housing, but if aimed properly they can be fine. You definitely want to check your cut off after installing HIDs.

hey Clemson haha no its not crooked its just cause i took the pic from the driver seat. in the passenger seat it looks the same but more space on the other side. It threw me off when i first got it too. if you sit in the middle its pretty normal.

I'm gonna ditch the brush guard one of these days im over it... i just gotta find some other options to mount the lights. plus i wanna lift soon but thats way down to who knows when haha.

how do you re-aim your lights? i think im gonna wait for yall to get your lights and see what you guys do, i dont really want to aim them all the way down, it looks terrible. gosh i wish i had those projectors that beam on your pic looks awesome!

I went out and took some quality pics, and a little of the install i'll post them in a sec.

The bolt on the bottom adjusts the height and the screw on top adjusts them from side to side.

Park on a flat surface and aim them at a wall about 20-25 feet away. You should be able to see the glare then.
 
ok so here is where i installed everything for those of you getting you kit soon. i also have a concern in one of the areas i chose but to start...

this is where i ran the wire from the pass side its fits right under that lip, there are even a couple holes to zip tie it.
