hid question

Can someone take a look at your HID install? I got the slim DDM kit and hit a snag...It says to plug in the stock light plug into the ballast and then connect the other two wires.. Simple enough..I snap the stop plug onto the ballast and connect the other two but get no light...so then I decide to turn the stock plug around and boom, I have light....Only problem is the tab it is supposed to lock onto and in place is now on the other side of the ballast and the plug can just slip off..is there a way to switch the plug around, or did I get a backwards ballast...All 4 ballast are the same way..

use a small eyeglass screwdriver and you should see a small tab in the harness plug. Use the eyeglass screwdriver to slide the tab while pulling the wire out. you can switch them around then push the wire back in until you hear it click. It only goes in one way.

thanks! I started to do that but chickened out...I did not want to ruin the harness or the light socket to the point of having no lights..

The 4Runner has reverse polarity for the lighting system. I have the DDM kit as well for my fogs and I didn't bother trying to fix the connector, I just flipped it (so it still works) and if it wasn't holding in there very well, I just ran a zip tie across both connectors so that it holds.
I definitely zip-tied the connectors to the ballasts so that they didn't come apart over time....

lol, I had actually gone out and bought some zip ties tonight to do the same thing tomorrow..Also, mine came with no mounting tape so I had to buy that as well.

i have an 06 with h11 lows and 9006 fogs.

I know with my 03 I had to rotate the plugs for both the low beams and the fogs..

The easy way to tell is to put the HID connector and the vehicle connector near each other. They will only plug into each other one way. Take a look at the wires themselves. If the ground (negative) wires line up you are ok. If not then you need to reverse the polarity before connecting together.
