Here's the email I just received. Looks like the group buy is $294 and some change..........."Zach,
Helios HID Kit is a generic term for made in Taiwan or
China. Our HID kits are not Helios, they are assembled
in Japan. We carry 9006 in 8000K. We are currently

i thought you said it was 294 for 8000K. what does the 6000K look like? i can't seem to find any pictures on their site.

i'm having second thoughts about these if it means losing the use of my auto-on headlights and possibly the DRLs as well...

Problem: - In many cases, especially for those cars that have Auto "ON" or Daytime Running Lights; one or both light cannot Ignite Initially, Discharge Bulb turns off after just start the car, or even sometimes, bulb just turns off when driving.
* Damage:
Fried ballast, internally damage or burn the discharge bulb Gas Capsule.
* Solution:
You MUST Disconnect the Daytime Running Light or Auto Switch “ON” function immediately before the actual HID Conversion. Due to the Steady levels of battery voltage is required at 12V or Plus before the initial Ignites of each HID Systems; you must prohibit the less voltage draw of car battery at HID’s start time. Daytime Running Light is 7V or less power output, and auto switch on headlight is always turn on seconds right before the car to start the ignition to charge the battery, which means Battery is focus on charging the ignition and waiting for alternator to recharge it back to 12V. Therefore, in both situations, battery is drawing much less power than 12V to initially ignite the HID headlight. Please perform the following:
º if you have Daytime Running Light please follow your car’s service manual; disconnect the fuse or wiring of Daytime Running lights only.
º If you have Auto Switch “On” Headlights, please switch the function to Manual Switch “On” headlights. To avoid further damages, always remember to start your engine before turn on the HID system!

Since you have a Limited, just leave the headlight switch in the "OFF" position and turn them on when you need them. The DRL shouldn't affect it since the 4th-gens use the turn signal lamps and not the actual headlights. I'm pretty sure they mean only the DRL systems that turn on the low/high-beam headlights (like on the 3rd-gen). The thing you should worry about is the alarm system, it flashes the headlights repeatedly when it is triggered.
I want to install HID's, but I've heard bad things about the systems coming from the asian countries. I'm sure they're much better now, but I'm going to hold off.

my aftermarket alarm does not flash the headlights, and i don't use the auto on feature of the headlights. i think it's annoying, but that's just my opinion. so the HID's are fine for me. thanks for clarifying zvachalek!

From personal experience before I switched to HIDs
every once in a while people would give me the highs
because they though mine were on. With the HIDs I
occasionally get the highs but no more often then when
I had the regular halogen bulbs. When I stand in front
of the car and look straight at the light it doesn't
strain my eyes unless I bend down. Beam pattern on the
ground and garage wall seems to be the same just
better covered. Visibility has been greatly improved.
My father use to drive around in his truck with the
high beams on because he has complains he can't see at
night. With the HIDs on his truck he doesn't use the
highs anymore the way he use to all the time.

without a name puts on their kits. Some kits are
composed of parts from different companies and the
included warranty may only cover half the kit if your
lucky. We are the official East Coast distributor of
Sunshine HIDs and every part is made by sunshine. Our
warranty covers all components. I have the 8000K 9006
Installed in my Acura MDX. The bulbs are the same
length, they are just more narrow then the halogen
bulbs making them appear longer. I don't know if that
is the same for other brands but that is the case with
ours. A common misconception is that they produce more
heat then the halogen bulbs, which is not the case.
I'll attach a photo of the 8000K 9006 HID kit on my
Acura MDX. Install is plug and play, only took 5
minutes.

Keep in mind that a lot of the HID kits were banned in the U.S. by the NHTSA... I'm wondering if the vendor in question has their seal of approval...

WOW. Looks like SEMA is not going to take this lying down. I hope they win, becasue I want these on my Truck real bad, but until they are DOT or Approved somehow I do not want to chance anything with so many people being lawsuit happy these days.
I saw them at SEMA and the are a HUGE improvement over the ones I saw in the earlier years. But NHTSA is trying to have their Blanket ban as usual and not include any revisions of Kits that are produced well currently.

we all know about the HID controversy whether or not they're legal, to my knowledge....they're illegal and i don't care. if we have 20 people....i'm in. i don't think we'd get 20 though. i can only buy if we have 20, sorry guys!
