Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) malfunction?

I have a 2010 Limited and everytime I'm parked on a steep incline and released the brake, my T4R would roll back, then the traction control light would start blinking and I'd hear a loud ratcheting sound...I usually stepped on my brake or gassed really hard when this happened, I guess I should have waited to see what would have happened, but that ratcheting sound was really unnerving...


Is this normal? I don't remember this happening in my 2010 SR5 nor the 2005 Inifiniti G35 coupe (auto) nor 2006 Lexus RX330 I had....

You have to remember that if the brakes locked on ice or a slippery surface the vehicle would slide backwards out of control, they have to pulse.

When I tested HAC on a fairly steep incline, there was a beep that indicated that is was on. When I released the brake the vehicle did not move at all. I only held there for maybe 8-10 seconds, so it may start to roll back after that.This only occurred when I pressed the brake pedal as far to the floor as possible. I was on a snowy road. I can't really comment on the HAC on the Limited, but for me it seemed to work great and there was no sound other than the beep when it first activated. There was also an indicator on the dash.
