That would be the diesel version, not the aussie version. All the gas motors have a right side intake, regardless of driver position (gas motors were available in Aus).

Oh really? I’d rather keep the snorkel and have ‘em ship me a diesel Hilux but I imagine it will just go back....

Just an FYI to anyone running this snorkel, I replaced the head with a pre-cleaner style head and had to take it off. When under load, in 2nd and D, above 3400RPM or so my truck would loose all power until I got off the accelerator. When it lost power you could hear a "air sucking through rubber" sound, think air escaping a pinched off balloon.
Seems the pre cleaner style head couldn't flow enough air at higher RPM's and was collapsing the rubber connector tube that comes with the 167 snorkels. I believe this is the same kind of issue the S/C guys have with this snorkel but for a different reason.
Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there for anyone thinking of changing the snorkel head out on the 167. This is the pre-filter I had: https://www.amazon.com/Spec-D-Tunin...=1528086178&sr=8-2&keywords=snorkel+prefilter
Other than that, still happy with the snorkel itself.

So I sold the rig that I wrote this about a few years ago, got a 4th gen, sold that, and tomorrow I'm picking up a 3rd gen again. Haven't checked out the 3rd gen pages in a while, but its pretty damn cool that people are still using this post! I've used many helpful write ups on this forum, glad I was able to at least make 1 that was useful.

Do NOT follow these measurements. I should have just followed OP, this has caused my hole to be an inch off and caused a lot of grief. Use the template and line it up for the large hole, then adjust for your smaller ones.
My snorkel just arrived. I’m working up the nerve to cut the big 3 3/8” hole. I placed the snorkel against the fender and A pillar and at first glance, It looks like it is going to be hit by the passenger door opening but I see where it will barely clear the door once attached to the A pillar. I’m going to use VHB tape there on the A pillar.
I’ll have to go buy a 3 3/8” hole saw at Harbor Freight and stop along the way to get a bottle of antacid to calm the stomach down before drilling that huge hole. Lol

That's for the diesel model it looks like from the pictures. The snorkel is on the wrong fender. The airbox is on the passenger side for the gasoline engines.

I thought that too for the fender but if you look at the other pictures it shows a snorkel for the other side as well.

Got that exact one for Christmas lol and I really like it. Pretty straight forward, but the intake on my 99 was way too short for the provided rubber hosing so I had to get some ducting hose. You can also get intake hose or what not, but that costs more. Here's a picture of how mine turned out, but there's also a thread about it too.
Pros:
CHEAP
works well
looks good
hard acceleration=intake noises
not terribly different wind noise
Cons:
intake modifications needed (may just be me)

Good deal! Thanks for the input! Judging by the pictures on Amazon and the identical ones on an eBay auction that specifically lists the Toyota part numbers needed to get their tubing to the inlet of the airbox. Looks pretty straightforward on the install, too.

Even just the ‘big hole’ would be enough; from the door side to the center of the hole (or edge); and from the fender edge (hood side) to the center (or edge).
If not; I’ll see what I can figure out. *
