Hiway MPG??

Just finished a 2800 mile round trip Colorado "sponveling" [spontaneous traveling] adventure. :dancin:

In the V8 we hand calculated an average 19.6 MPG with a full load in the boot and a hitch carrier full of camping gear. Unleaded fuel prices averaged...$3.29, which really cut into our beer drinking money!!! Loved the scenery and the conditions were absolutely perfect. I highly recommend a road trip of the Colorado high country in May/June. We're seriously jealous of those Coloradans...at least in the summer.

I agree with Keylay31. Summer is a great time, but winter is a lot more fun. Then again I love the snow and cold weather!

Mileage on short vacation

My wife and I took our first road trip in our new 07 SR5. We were still in the break-in period, so I varied the speed, which wasn't difficult, given that we were driving through northern New Mexico and southern Colorado: the trip took us from Santa Fe to Chaco Canyon & then to Mesa Verde, then back to Santa Fe through Chama in four days.

We did 750 miles and averaged just over 20 MPG.

Mileage will get better as the engine gets broken in--right?

Mine did... Now with just over 28,000 miles, I am averaging 20.8 mpg (hand calculated) per tank for the last 3 tanks. That's about 50% city and 50% highway (although my city traffic is not usually bumper to bumper).

I've got about 2000KMs on my 07 V6 Sport.

I typically get just under 18MPG for mostly city, and about 23MPG mostly highway. Hand calculated.

If I do a 50/50 split, works to right around 20.

It seems to be slowly improving as it continues to break in.

This falls pretty closely to what others are reporting on the fueleconomy.gov website.

I used 87 Octane. For kicks, next time I run right down on fuel I'll try 92.
