Hood lift support replacement help

I am referring to the two shock looking arms that hold up our hoods on the 4th gens. Mine are sacked out and I am unable to find after market replacements at Advanced, Auto Zone, Napa, usaautoparts.com, ect. Toyota wants over $90 each. Anyone out there crossed referenced them to another application or have another solution to offer? Thanks - Greg

Ouch. That is crazy how much they want. Maybe you could try one of these:

Redline Tuning - Hood Support, gas springs, hood QuickLIFT, hood damper, no prop rod, hood lift, dampers
Redline Tuning - Hood Support, gas springs, hood QuickLIFT, hood damper, no prop rod, hood lift, dampers

I would call them and see if they can at least tell you if they think it will work (maybe get the measurements of yours extended and compressed before you call). Still not the cheapest, but seems to be cheaper than $180...

Looks like both sides are the same Part # 53440-69065

can be had for less then $55 each at

Anyone find a replacement yet?

I looked every on the internet including getting out the caliper and trying to match up the measurements. Couldn't find them anywhere. Ended up going the OEM route as well.

Partznet.com has free shipping on orders over $100 and Toyotavilliage.com had the best internet discount I found.
