Looking to throw these on my 99 limited 4X4, pricing is OK, nothing great but not a total rip off, just want to know, i know the 305 means slightly wider then I have now which is cool I guess, and the 70 is the smallest but bigger so will these rub or anything or seems like a good buy? thanks

What a super noob question. We have no idea what kind of lift you have or what wheels you are running. If you are totally stock then there it is pretty much guaranteed that you will rub the control arms. At the least you will need some wheel spacers, 3" suspension lift, and probably a 1" body lift. That is the combo most guys run to clear 35's. A 305/70/16 is a 32x12 where a 315/75/16 is a 34.6x12.4 so not much wider. I think you would be better off running the 315's if you've got the lift for it, as the 305's are almost the same width but only 32" tall.

Actually they are a slightly taller (than a 285) 33" and wider (15mm or ~3/4"). You will want an 8" wide wheel. They will require a little more cutting and pounding than a 285/70-16.

my bad guys I wrote this in a hurry

I have a 99 limited 4X4, running stock 16s.

I dont have any lift or anything, all stock, hoping these will directly go on without spacers or a lift or anything.

You'll have to do a lot of trimming and pounding to get them to fit without a lift without rubbage. I dont see it happening to be honest.

I still rub with 285's, and 3.5" of lift and i've trimmed, ground and smacked the crap out of my fenders ;) This is of course only on the most off camber sections.

whats it going to rub? the fenders, or the inner well on the inside of the wheel (forget what its called, maybe by the control arms??). I know there a little wider then the stocks but next to eachother its only about an inch or so more in diamater, even though its the same thickness just because there all terrain it has that beefy look. Will it work?

Sounds to me like you got the tires cheap or free and are trying to make a square peg fit into a round hole.

Also, the amount you'll rub will greatly depend on how you use the truck. If you're mall crawling, you'll mostly be okay. But I wouldn't try to flex the suspension and then complain about all the body and tire damage you just did.

they are going to rub on your UCA, your fire wall, your frame and possibly your bumper and flares. i have 285s with no lift and the place i rub is on the frame, and fire wall, but only at full lock and full flex. i have less than a 1/4" gap between my UCAs and tire, you will need a spacer and that will make more rubbing on the fire wall and fenders...

just stick with a 285 for a non lifted truck if you want a bigger tire.

From the stock 265, they are 40mm wider (25mm/inch = ~1.75" wider).

They will rub on the upper control arms, top of the fender lips when stuffing, the frame rails when turning, the pinch welds inside the front fenders/firewall, and the rear edge of the front fenders.

To eliminate the UCA rubbing you will need wheel spacers or wheels with less back spacing.

To eliminate the top of the fender rubbing, you will need a body lift (1"-1.5").

They will rub these same spots with a suspension lift, they will just rub less often.

They'll rub the frame, the upper control arms (without wheel spacers or wheels with ~3.75" backspacing), the firewall and also the front bumper and skirt. With the right backspacing to clear the upper control arms, you will rub more everywhere else so you'll need to clearance a lot. If you have SR5 flares, they'll rub those in the back. That's all with a 3" suspension lift. With no lift, they'll just rub that much more because the suspension won't have as much travel before the tire makes contact.

A 1" body lift will help a lot, but you'll have to do a similar amount of cutting and pounding as I did to fit my 35s (you can check out my build thread for more info and pics). The width makes a big difference with the rubbing (at least as much as the height), that's why most people who want 33s go with 285/75/16s or 255/85/16s. A 2" body lift should clear 305s for the most part (with minimal trimming and pounding), but a 2" body lift has it's cons too, like a higher center of gravity.

This question has been covered a lot so do a little searchin first!
