How can I replace this bulb?

After 8 years this bulb has finally burned out where the clock is displayed.

Is this a situation where I have to remove the centre console, area under the steering wheel, an so on? Thanks

you just need to open the little storage cubby and pull that out. lift up when it is up and it will pop out. then take out the 10mm bolt that is up by the latch for the little cubby. then the piece should pop off. its the same piece as the climate controls. you have to go to the dealer to get the bulbs

Maybe, but the above solution might work. Either way it's not a big deal...definitely an easy fix. Props on 8 years of ownership!

Exactly how it's done. I believe the bulb was around $3-4 when I bought mine from dealership. Easy fix! :hatsoff:

Is there a parts #'s list for the bulbs?

My climate "temp up, temp down, AC, Auto" clusterm went out last week, AND i gotta display blub (same as the OP) that teeter-totters on working or not.

I pulled out a long green for my defrost button, planning to pick up a new one from the dealer. Someone mentioned the temp up/down lights on another thread, I didn't realize mine were out 'till then, what bulb lights those up? I could just pull the console out again, but wonder if anyone knows off-hand to save me some time?

It looks like my SR5 doesn't have separate bulbs for the temp up/down arrows, so maybe they aren't lit? Or maybe they only light when I'm pushing on them, as all the other arrows only light when activated? I'll have to look for that.

it would be a good idea to replace all of them while you have it out because i had the lcd screen go out then the day after i replaced the screen one, a couple of the others went out.

just some food for thought. so your not pulling your dash apart a hundred times

Good idea, I was actually going to but they only had one bulb in stock ($7 by the way)

You can look into putting LED's in. Pick a color the lights are about $4 each or less. There is a DIY thread on this I have added about 30+ LED's and get lots of complements on the look. Use caution with white it can be a bit bright. I have even seen mixed colors and it looks pretty cool if done right. They install the same way the factory bulbs do.

dfrlofton may think its gay everybody is entitled to their opinion. If you like a orange dash more power to you.
Even if you don't change any colors I would look into replacing the lights with LED's they use less power and cost less.

scottm i just did all these lights on my SR5 and there should be a separate bulb for each climate knob.

I replaced all the bulbs in that console last week. took a total of less then 5 minutes (seriously). You can do it! Just triple check the bulbs the provide for the 3 climate knobs. the guy gave me the wrong colored one, and it still works its just a tad dimmer then the rest. let us know if you have any trouble

Im curious your picture looks like you replaced the dash bulbs lighting up the tach and speed etc, is this so? I heard that you had to replace the whole dash in order to replace those bulbs, but if thats not the case i need to upgrade mine!

The post by Carl G shows only the a single "A" bulb for the each of the HVAC controls. That would appear to be the back lighting for each control. This would suggest that there are more bulbs in each control unit to light up the arrow various indicators.
Is this correct?
