How do I remove this piece to get to my bulbs? For LED swap

I was going to do an interior LED swap for my 99' sr5 2wd. i wanted to make sure i had all the correct bulbs written down so i thought i might as well take out the bulbs myself, however i was stuck at this part, it was the bulbs for the a/c and the ect button i belive. how do i get them out? also in the pic below, what type of bulb is that?

what are the bulb numbers for the a/c , ect, and the bulb i was holding up?

That entire piece (switch/indicator bar) comes out as one. You have to unclip one of the ends, then unclip the middle tabs, then unclip the opposite end. The bulb you are holding looks like a neowedge A, buts that's using your finger for a scale so it may be a neowedge B.

Edit: Just wanted to add my LED bulb "seal of disapproval". They leave hot spots.

u said your led bulbs leave hot spots, but did u use the 3 way light bulbs? or just single? i heard 3way bulbs emit light in 3 directions so u get a fuller view.

anyone here use 3ways and still get hotspots?

Yeah I have used the 3 way bulbs too. It can make it worse or it can make it better depending on the application. The other issue with the 3 ways is fitment. Sometimes the array of the LEDs can make the bulb larger than what your bulb opening can accommodate. I can tell you that the neowedge A LED bulbs have horrible light dispersion and I have not seen a 3 way for any neowedge type. For some reason the neowedge Bs I have tried have much better light dispersion and can actually leave an almost undetectable cold spot. Keep in mind that I speak only from experience on this matter. None of my opinions or conclusions are based on anything I have read or heard. I was just a frustrated consumer who gave up on trying to achieve a different lighting style and color. I am currently back to stock lighting with the exception of my key ring light which has a 3 way white LED bulb.

yea, thanks for the thought, im kinda re-thinkin the whole deal, because you are not the only one to say this. however i have bulbs that are out and need replacing, you said you went back to stock bulbs? the ones you can get at like autozone right?

My local autozone does not have the neowedges, they have the 74 and 24 size bulbs and I think those are the only interior bulbs for the 4Runner that they carry. You can get incandescent bulbs from autolumination.com for the weird sizes. Which bulbs need to be replaced?

well, guess ill just keep my lights all stock, dont really feel like taking dashboard apart anyways, just probaly gunna stick to stock lights and all. im going to replace every bulb besides dashboard and headliner lights. all my lights are so dim now.

i belive i will need 3 odd shapped neo wedged bulbs. which are the a/c ect and power windows.

you don't have to remove that piece at all to get to those bulbs

those small bulbs are in the back of that clipped in piece. A small screwdriver blade will work to unscrew them.

One is near that "J" marking-between it and the black "dead" plug (no pins inside the plug receptacle, the other one would simply be along that same piece-about 2-3 inches left of where the finger is pointing -right next to the white plug receptacle.

It's not necessary at all to remove that clipped in strip whatsoever.
