Like that other guy said, just lift the ***** and say you wanted to do it. She has no room to complain LOL. The same thing I'm doing with my 4runner, as soon as this next few months come, I'll have the money to lift it onto 35's, change my gear ratio up from 4.56 to 4.88, and possibly do my 350 swap at the same time.

If you paid for it, tell her to suck it up. Woo!
 
My approach is simple..I have four girls, read that as four makeup budget's, four hairstyle product budgets, four cell phone bills, etc...need I say more?
 
Having been out of town, all over the world and not home much to do snow removal at home while my wife had a Honda Civic....The 4runner was so that she didn't need to shovel. She could just get in and drive. The lift and 33" tires was so that she could just drive up onto any snow mound and park. The skid plates were so that when she climbed onto said snow mounds it protected the underside from the hard packed ice; and the rock sliders sliced the snow mounds on the sides as she drove in. Part of the deal was I could offroad it some times in the summer....that's what I got, a saturday a month. I got the bad deal here.

Then....the first gen 4runner was because it didn't make sense anymore to use a newer truck for offroading. And the price of gas is getting so expensive that my past time hobby shouldn't cost me 100$ to get there, before I even start it. Plus it's an 84, it's so old.....it is even cheaper than an ATV, and it has rear seats. This worked for me.

Now, I still need to keep V8 4runner so that I can tow the 1st Gen 4runner if I need to. Some how this worked. Although global warming is making the snow thing....not saleable anymore. :lmao:
 
there is not enough snow here to use a snow excuse I think im just goinna do ti and see if she noticies LOL!!!:whipping2
 
Yeah, you have to find a way that she benefits from it. Tell her that when it snows or rains all the crap from the street splashes up on the side of the Runner and when she steps out it'll get all over her jeans/dress/etc.
Tell her if you lift it, all that crap will miss the side of the Runner and won't get her clothes dirty when she gets in and out. By the time she realizes its not true, it'll already be installed...
 
I cant believe how far this post has gone LMAO!!!!!! I ;like the idea of the lift so here clothes stay clean!! That might not work when the yota gets covered in mud LOL!!!:drummer:

Unless the money should really go some other place, like for Lil'Bobby's braces....or Anne Marie's new glasses, and you know it.....then it's no big deal. 2" lift. some 32"s. You're just customizing. Some guys install redicoulus stereos and spinners, some do pin stripes, you'll do a lift.

Sometimes the silly posts are the best posts.

Also is your 4Runner doing the rear end sag yet? You can use that to upgrade the suspension. Why just replace, when you can upgrade....yeah yeah, that's it. It's not a lift kit, it's a suspension upgrade. Didn't you tell me that the rear passenger shock was leaking.:wink2: Better fix that quick, before the fluid gets all over the brakes. Then oh boy, you know the kind of problems that will create.
 
Oh yeah the butt on the t4r is saggen thats a good sell right there it was saggen so i had to lift it higher to fix it I like I like!!!!
 
The key here is not to marry someone you need to "Get Permission From!"
Are you marrying your Mom? I have never asked for permission from a woman to do Anything, and I never expect a woman to ask Me for permission for anything.
Do it if you want to, or just cut your nuts off now.
A grown adult knows and respects their partner, and themselves enough to already know what is right and hopefully what is right is simply being yourself....at least that is my humble opinion. Nobody shoulkd be "Kissing -ass" in a healthy relationship.

so I know this post is old but i wanted to give an update I ended up giving my woman the 95 t4r she loves it and i just bought a 87 1st gen this was the easiest way to do what I wanted LOL!!
