No f'en way. Id tellem I want a new one or I'd walk....thats just me though Mine had 6 miles on it. From japan onto the boat, onto the trailer at port them off at my dealer. I made sure of it, it's mine not some salesman to beat on to and from his house ****ting up the inside. Again, that's just me I'm that anal about my vehicles I'm spending money on. Chances are the runner is fine but that would bother me.
How do you determine if a 4runner is new?

Mine has only 8 miles when drove it off the dealer parking lot. I agree with all of you that technically if the Vehicle never register with dmv to any private party it still consider as new even though it may have a lot of miles on it, however you can use that as your leverage to bargain with the dealer to bring the price down, but if you are not comfortable with that kind miles on a new car just walk away and look for a different one.

As crappy as it sounds it is still considered new and if you don't buy it somebody else will. I personally wouldn't want it driven that much and paying the premium new car price either. I would try and talk the dealer down more since some assclown has been driving it around. My dealer does the same thing they had plans to take my Trail out and "test the 4wd" features but I managed to buy it before they had the chance to. It kinda pissed me off they said that but I was lucky it was only on the lot for 1day before it was mine and they haven't had another Trail in yet.

The dealer knew you were going to buy this particular vehicle and decided to use it as a daily driver? I would have a problem with that. If the dealer (under your agreement) had to drive it 200 miles to get it to you, that's part of the deal. But if the dealership drove it 10 miles to go get lunch? That's considered used to me. At least negotiate the price to reflect the 200 miles.

This is why i really liked the dealership i purchased from. Owner and any salesmen that need to drive a vehicle drive at least 2 year old stuff. I waited like 3 weeks before buying the 4 runner going back and forth and they put the car in there back lot and didn't let anybody touch it. My car had 100 miles on it but 85 were from me test driving it. I do understand that other people such as tire kickers come in and drive vehicles with no intention of buying so that will put unwanted miles on the Vehicle.There are certain occasions when miles are acceptable when buying a vehicle such as a left over model or the demo at a discounted price, But a 2011 in January of 2011 that's absolutely crazy. Like others have said this dealership has no respect for the vehicle or you as the customer To not even have the morons crap out of the car is so insulting. "hey don't mind the burger wrappers on the floor this baby came from Toyota like that still has the new whopper smell"
It's an ex-demo and should be priced accordingly. In fact it is worse than a demo - most times there is salesman there on a demo which ensures test drivers don't go nuts. Heaven knows what happens when the staff just take it home as some sort of passion wagon/drag racing competitor

Calling 200 miles new is a bit like saying she's a virgin even though she's had sex twice.
Someone could have ground a gear, not properly bed the brakes, or revved the crap out of it in those first few hundred miles.
She's used and possibly abused.
New is 10 miles or less. Anything more is a demo with the dealer trying to pawn off as new.

Even if technicalities would make the car new because it has never been registered or for whatever other reasons... it's considered used to me. 200 miles isn't alot but knowing that a salesman/woman has been driving it around the block, it would seem unfair for them to sell it to you without any sort of discounted or demo price.
