I was able to get the cover off of the connector with ideas from this forum but the screws that hold the sensor are rusted and somewhat deteriorated. I've got sockets and the 12 mm won't hold on. I need some suggestion on what else might work in this confined space. I have a 3rd generation 4runner 2002 year model. Any help would be appreciated.

I did a couple of things. The good news is the studs are much harder than the nuts, so if you can obliterate the nut by whatever means, the odds are good you can clean up the stud.
First, I hit them with lots of PB Blaster. I used progressively smaller sockets and banged them on with a hammer. (Cheap China set, not my S-K's.) Then I used a short pair of Vise-Grips--the big ones won't go in there. Alternating approaches got the nut fall off in pieces. Finally I cleaned up the stud with a wire brush.

I used CRC Freeze Off. Then vice grips on the lower one which was very nearly gone, just slow and steady trying to get get good grips and ease it off. I hammered an 11 mm socket on the upper one. It was very helpful and reassuring to have read this before-hand.
