How do you pay for your mods?

It generally comes from disposable income.

If you have $20k cash in hand to buy a car and can afford a couple hundred bucks a month for payments/spending, you can:
Buy a $30k car by putting $20k down and making monthly payments on the balance but not have money for mods,
Buy a $20k car with cash in hand and use monthly savings/payments for mods,
Buy a $10k car and put $10k worth of mods into it,
Or any other possibilities/combinations of what you do with your money.

Some people make a lot of money but are car-poor or house-poor (all their money goes into paying for their car or house, leaving them no money to spend even though they have a high income). Some people are the opposite, they don't buy more house than they need and they use the extra money for other stuff like savings, vehicles/toys, travel, etc (which is what I do). And it doesn't matter how much money a person makes. Warren Buffet still lives in the same house he's had since 1958. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, some people struggle to get by and can't afford mods at all - it's money wasted when they need every bit they can get.

It all depends on your own situation. It's just personal finances based on your income and priorities.

This is why nobody likes you.

Hahaha

Typically with money, but sometimes with my body :whipping2

But seriously I am a college student so summer internships do it for me and I deal with being completely broke during the rest of the year lol.

i work in IT for my job now. a lot of staff here complain about their machines at home so i just throw out that i do side work. i take that $ and use it on stuff i want and not bills. some months i make more doing that than my actual job... hard part is deciding to spend it on my motorcycles, computer or 4runner.

i'm the regional maintenance manager for a trucking company but i do side jobs for my owner operators like brakes and other stuff after hours. the wife is a comm. officer for 911 and makes more money than i do so she's really the one bringin home the bacon. so basically i got me a "sugar mama"!

Same here, going to school on full scholarship, so I work whenever I'm not in school and save it all. I put some into a savings account, and use whatever else i've accumulated to pay for daily expenses while i'm at school. Whatever gets leftover at the end of the semester is for investment into the 4runner! It seems to work well, as it forces me to watch how I spend my money while I'm in school. Getting my windows tinted this weekend with money I made over Christmas :bigok:

That sounds like a ridiculous deal man, my 06 has 87k on it! Congratulations on that, I would've done the same thing if I had somewhere to park a second vehicle.

Thanks lol I almost spit my coffee all over the screen when I found it lol.

We have 2 grages and car port at my house at school so we have more than enough parking lol. We are all car guys at the house though so it is a constant battle of who gets the "nice" garage for their projects lol.

I will be selling my 99 though so I won't have to worry too long about having 2 around. my philosiphy is I can only drive one at a time so why have more than I need. My roommates don't understand that though lol one guy has 2 trucks, a 73 nova and a sport bike... :barf:

Rob

Every 15th and end of month i wait next to the ATM and ask for their money very nicely.:laser::gun5:

Just joking of course,do a lot of mechanical side work for friends and family.
I can't even work on my own project,so busy every weekend.

My parents pay for school, I have a full time job that pays really well...and I have no bills. :bounce:

I work like crazy. Full time installer for D* satellite TV, plus home/commercial audio/video/networking installations on the side, and now dabbling in some shade tree car repair as well (only for friends in need). I sometimes go weeks without a day off. Truth be told, very little of that $ makes it into the 4runner. I have to add one thing at a time to stay out of hot water, spread it out some. Otherwise, the wife gets a little miffed. Still on the list, bumpers, some skids, winch, and a Whitson rack. All in due time. First she has to forget about the last round of mods.
